"I had a terrible experience with Hand & Stone Mississauga Dixie and their corporate team regarding a serious incident during a laser appointment in October 2024. During the treatment, the technician mistakenly performed the laser over my tattoo, which resulted in a burn, blistering, and significant fading of the ink. This could have been completely avoided if proper procedures had been in place. 1. Lack of Proper Intake & Verification Process – When I reviewed the intake form after the incident, I noticed that there was no clear section to document tattoo locations, nor did the technician ask about them before proceeding with the laser. This basic oversight led to the damage to my tattoo. 2. Failure to Disclose Risks Before Treatment – I was only informed of potential risks after the laser session was already completed. By then, the damage was done. A responsible clinic should ensure clients fully understand risks before treatment, not after. 3. Lack of Accountability & Communication – After reporting the incident, I initially received an acknowledgment that the matter was under review, but after months of follow-ups, I have still not received a resolution. I provided a fair and reasonable request for compensation to cover the cost of restoring my tattoo, yet they have ignored my emails and calls. 4. Negligence in Handling Customer Concerns – The location claims they are “waiting for direction” from HQ, but HQ has remained silent. It has now been over three months without a proper response. No reputable business should take this long to address a serious mistake that resulted in an injury. This experience has been extremely frustrating, and I feel completely disregarded as a customer. If you're considering laser treatments here, be aware that if anything goes wrong, you may be left without support or accountability. I expected much better from a company that provides aesthetic treatments. I would strongly caution others against trusting Hand & Stone with laser services, as their negligence and lack of professionalism have been unacceptable."
