"Had a really nice session today with Farnaz. Felt extremely comfortable in my surroundings. Farnaz has very strong hands which was fantastic for my very knotty shoulders. The 60mins went by so fast but between the cupping and the deep tissue massage we did today, I know I’m going start feeling relief in my upper back and shoulders in just a couple of sessions. "Really nice decor and amenities but the service was not worth the money. Went for a couple massage they have limited 2 bed rooms so we had to be split up as they were all booked. Paid almost 800$ for two massages and the massages were so horrible. It didn’t even feel like the person was trained to massage anyone they did it so soft I kept asking to do it harder didn’t the sauna is not co ed so we were split the whole time it was simply not worth the money. Go place gives way better massages and cheaper with a nice faculty."

"I recently went with my friends for celebration, and the staff from the beginning and until the moment we left were very kind, friendly, helpful and accommodating. All of us loved our massage experience in Sweetgrass, my friends had Gina, I had someone else, possibly Celina? but they all were great and she took her time and listened to my concerns and focused on those areas and days later, my back is pain free. I also loved the pool and hot tub. I do wish they had more options in their tea section in the lounge, maybe a coffee machine?"

"Like restaurants that receive 3 Michelin stars, this Thai spa is worth the visit to the entire country of Canada! My husband and I had an incredible experience at Shivaga. It was our first Thai massage, but the therapists were so professional and explained the different pressure points. It was a little painful at times (the good kind of pain!) but at the end of the treatment, my body felt so centered and relaxed. Norman also taught me methods to massage myself so that I can reduce tension and back pain. The price was very reasonable, and the place is clean with a relaxing atmosphere. Overall, an amazing experience, and we would travel back to Toronto just to have a Thai massage at Shivaga!"

"Jun is a professional and friendly therapist. His deep tissue massage is wonderful, hitting all the right spots. He also uses very good quality aromatherapy during the massage, which is a bonus. After about two sessions, I felt significant improvement from my chronic neck and shoulder pain. Not only did all of my symptoms subside, but I also felt complete relief for extended periods of time. I even slept for almost 12 hours after the treatment. I heard that Jun is about to study Traditional Chinese Medicine this December. I am sad that I won't be seeing him quite as often, but I wish him all the best with his studies. I can't wait to receive acupuncture, massage, and even herbal medicine from him. I highly recommend his services."

"POV: I went in expecting to have to chop my mermaid-length hair off because 3 salons had deemed it unsalvageable. STORYTIME I had exited an abusive marriage some time ago and had neglected my hair while preparing for court trials. My hair has ALWAYS been a source of identity for me, and it is the thing I like most about myself. When my soon-to-be-fiance accidentally let his upcoming proposal slip, I had a week to fix my matted and out-of-control hair. The salon's lovely females, Piper and Sinead, fit me in promptly and helped me figure out what treatments I would need that fit my budget (broke and bougie is doable!). I was matched with the MOST loving and accepting human, Mark Peterson (who is on Instagram, and you should go follow ????????). Not only was this man able to save my hair (and I mean it was BAD), but he listened to my experience, made me feel seen, normalized my mental health struggles and got me excited about my upcoming proposal instead of ruminating in past mistakes. This is one of those stores, and if you worked in retail, YOU KNOW how rare this is: jokes, laughter, they love their boss and their coworkers, they work together and help each other out without any prompt. Best off, they did not upsell me and even had a raffle draw for the holidays (adorable little gingerbread house box ????) that gave me buy one get one for their AMAZING products. Mark was incredibly knowledgeable about products that would work for my unique hair type and worked with me to find products I NEEDED within my budget instead of products that filled their commission. I have never had such a wonderful experience in a fancy salon, and have found most (including the 3 who turned me away) to be slightly toxic. Very warm and welcoming, 15/10 would recommend (there is even free parking in the back ????). I loved Mark, and think you should ask for him. But honestly, all the artists seemed talented and it was a pleasure to watch them interact with clients."

"By far the worst pedicure and customer service I’ve ever received. After my pedi I payed and left, when I got into my car I realized how bad My nails actually looked. She could not get my previous polish off, left my nails crooked, jagged and with sharp bumbs. The colour is sheer and all over my skin. I went back inside to request a refund as me and my friend had to get home to put her child down for a nap. They said there was no manager or anyone in charge to speak to, they looked at my nails and said they would fix them. I informed them that I didn’t have time as they clearly needed to be fully redone (I had already been there for an hour) they refused and proceeded to file the top coat off my big toe after I asked her not to. Then they left us standing at the front desk without a word knowing that we were in a rush. To think I paid and tipped and they are just now informing us of the no refund policy (seriously no sign by the till??? That’s ridiculous and clearly a trap) stay far away!!!"

I know she takes her job very seriously and wants to give everyone her very best, always updating her profession and finding ways to provide new and innovative services. Many times you can walk into spas and the decor has not changed for years and cleanliness is questionable, but very important in this work environment. Do not have Sheryl do your nails she gave me an extremely poor set, they were lumpy, uneven and chipped/popped off in one day. I came to get my brows done today and when I actually got a look at them as I left the tail end of my brow was waxed off and they’re uneven. It makes it really hard to support local when the services are poor."

"Went to Urban Spa because my usual place was booked and had heard good things! I went for a gel manicure on Saturday (it’s now Tuesday) with a couple of girlfriends. Although the aestheticians were all lovely, the quality of work was severely lacking for my manicure. I have two chipped nails, fuzz that was cured into my nail and dents in some of the others. To top it off, it was over $70 before tip. My girlfriends enjoyed their services, but did not realize the added fee to add gel polish for pedicures was $19 (!) and their services totalled over $100 before tip. Overall, we were very disappointed and won’t return."

I had a Swedish massage and the Urban facial and there are no words to describe how amazing it was. I had Nick for my massage and my facial from Sarah. They were professional but personable as well as fun to chat with. They made you feel comfortable and relaxed in the capable hands. Sarah described each process of the facial so you knew what to expect. For someone who has never had a facial before I really enjoyed it and would recommend for some who is just starting out.
