"I’m updating this review to reflect the shocking after sale customer service received from Rock Spa. This is a long review, so if you just want the summary - All I wanted was for my colorist to talk to me about how my hair turned out - I was told all concerns with your hair must go through reception. You may not speak to your service provider. They would not look at my hair. - Careful of reviews – they offer gifts in exchange for showing 5-star reviews Nightmare post sale customer service. They seem to do fine work, but you may be in trouble if you run into an issue. I ignored my instincts on the aggressive and combative replies to negative reviews posted here, trusting in the large number of positive 5-star reviews. Unfortunately, it turns out that those 5-star reviews may be in response to an offer of free samples advertised in store if you show a completed 5-star review to them. I had a Balayage done by Lidia. Both the owner Chantel Bourgeois, and her master colorist Lidia, were initially so kind to me. Chantel listened to all my concerns over the phone about what went wrong with my last color from another salon and reassured me that Lidia was the best and would take great care of me. Lidia spent 45 minutes on an in person consultation with me, quoting me an exact price for the work she would need to do. My appointment with Lidia started well but ended up running longer than she had planned. I was handed off to Chantel to finish my cut and style so that Lidia could go to her next customer. As Chantel finished, I said that my hair was a little dark in the front, which was where Lidia had to rush a bit before her next client came in. Chantel said she felt it would lighten up with sun exposure and washing. Given the assurances about customer satisfaction through the process, I was okay with waiting to see if it lightened as she suggested. They took a bunch of pictures of the back of my hair which looked great. When I paid there was a minor difference between what they had quoted and what they were charging but they honored the quote which was nice. I showed my 5 star review, took my samples, and left. When I restyled my hair at home, I could see there wasn’t enough blonde in the front left, making my hair there look dark and different from the rest, as well as a random blonde streak that had come out copper. I assumed this was a super quick fix, and I called the salon to see if I could talk to Lidia about her looking at my hair and seeing if she or an apprentice could quickly address it. I spoke with the receptionist Shay, Chantel’s daughter. Shay said that customers can’t speak with staff, and all concerns must go through her. I explained my issue with the lack of blonde in the front left of my hair. Shay said that she had seen my pictures, and my hair looked fine. I explained to her that those pictures were of the back of my hair, and the issue was the front left. Shay then said that Lidia was a master colorist, whatever she did must have been appropriate. I was free to buy another coloring service from them and they would fix it, but they had already spent too much time on my hair for what they charged, even though they had done a 45-minute consult with me and provided me the quote based on that. Ultimately, I simply asked for a whole $20 tip back and for someone to call me just to listen to my concerns or I’d change my 5 star review as this was no longer a great experience. Shay challenged that I had been given a gift for that review, which I offered to return unopened. In the end, she agreed I could come in and she would refund the tip. 5 minutes later Shay called me back saying she had talked to Chantel, and they would not return the $20 and I was denied any further service from them for saying I would change my review I am so shocked how downhill this went. I would recommend paying close attention to the negative reviews here, and especially to the way that the salon responds to them, including this one. Good luck."

I was blown away by the friendly and informative service, and the lymphatic drainage massage had me feeling like I'd ascended to heaven! She got rid of about 15 years of tension and I genuinely didn't know I could feel so relaxed - and the effects were lasting. "I am writing to formally address a concerning incident related to the lymphatic drainage massage I received at your establishment in July-August 2024, as well as to request a full refund for the service. My experience not only fell significantly below expected standards of care but also appears to have directly resulted in physical harm, culminating in my need for surgical intervention. On the date of my scheduled appointment, I was delayed due to an unexpected traffic stop by the Barrie Police. Upon arrival, I was informed that I would still receive treatment, despite my late arrival. However, the service provided was, in my view, rushed, rough, and executed with less-than-adequate care and attention. The massage I received was markedly inferior to my prior experience at your establishment and was noticeably uncomfortable throughout. Since this treatment, I have experienced severe and unrelenting pain extending from my neck, through my back and trapezius muscles, and now down into my elbow. This pain presents with symptoms highly suggestive of carpal tunnel syndrome or an ulnar nerve complication, neither of which I experienced before this specific massage. My symptoms have since escalated to a level where surgical intervention has been recommended, as substantiated by recent medical consultation and diagnosis. Given the unexpected onset of these symptoms and the link to the treatment in question, I believe it is fair and just that I be reimbursed the full amount paid. I am prepared to provide supporting documentation, including a medical diagnosis and recommendation for surgery, to demonstrate that this issue originated from the massage treatment provided at your facility. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response and to a fair resolution This was my second full priced treatment with EOW….."

"Hello, Unfortunately, I didn’t have a good experience this time. The massage therapist was sick, constantly coughing and sniffing, and even told me I shouldn’t wear perfume because of their allergies. My appointment was supposed to be for an hour, but I asked to cut it to 30 minutes because I felt very uncomfortable. I even offered to reschedule, but the therapist said it was their last day. The room was small, the door was closed, and the air felt heavy – I’m honestly worried I might get sick now. I’m really disappointed, especially since I’ve had great experiences at this clinic before with other massage therapists. Sadly, this session left a very bad impression, and I’m hesitant about coming back."

Convenient location to find and park, white glove service that makes you feel like be treated like a truly VIP and the whole store is so neat and clean. "Awful experience. I just left their location in 5 min. I am pregnant and I get massage at different places every week. I only get shoulder and head massage every time. I told them that them that I only need the head and shoulder msg and they said that we are scared to touch your head and shoulder because you are pregnant. Their attitude was also very rude. Also, when I entered I noticed that the place is very dirty and they are not organized. Don’t go to this place. The person who was at the front desk was also rude and unprofessional."

I’ve had many massage’s and what I experienced last week was not a massage. He literally massaged me with the sheets on, when he did remove the sheet to work on my legs, he was literally pinching me..oil drys up, not very pleasing… he had me stretching more than a massage, I didn’t realize I booked physiotherapist. On my way out, there was nothing Of the sort, how was your massage? Everything okay….. I was desperate, but I don’t even recommend this place when you’re desperate. Stay clear from having a massage from this gentleman, waste of money."
