"It was my first time at the spa for a massage. I thought their booking system was nice and simple to use, setting up the appointment was a breeze. I love the convenience. They sent me my COVID screening questions 2 hours in advance so that there wasn't any waiting when I arrived. The atmosphere was nice. My therapist was amazing too. I totally muffed up the time of my original appointment, showing up an hour late when everyone was gone. They were kind enough to rebook for me with no penalty. Now that's customer service! Thanks guys."
"I had an AMAZING facial experience at Shades of Beauty Spa. The brow service was also fantastic - precise and shaped perfectly. Neelam is HIGHLY skilled and attentive, creating a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. My skin felt amazing afterward, and I left feeling refreshed and pampered. Will definitely return for all my future facial and brow services. I highly recommend Shades of Beauty Spa for anyone looking to treat themselves to a top-notch spa experience."
"I booked this service in January 2025 with the intention of some relaxation and self-care. I have have very healthy scalp and great hair, so I wasn't in need of any dermatological treatments beyond moisture on account of Calgary's dry climate. The client experience was underwhelming, there wasn't any effort to explain what the service was all about for a first time visitor or any efforts to make for a calm and welcoming environment, similar to a massage. Offering this service in a salon environment over a massage clinic/spa has an impact on the overall vibe going into the experience. The initial scalp assessment with a magnifying machine seems gimicky, she's barely looking or paying attention to sectioning the hair. The equipment did not seem clean nor did she disinfect it before or after I used it. I was 100% expecting more of a head massage, like you get when your hair is washed. What I got was a sprinkler on my head and hair for almost 45-50 minutes, my hair washed, and some abrasive tools used to treat my scalp. I dozed off a few times but some of the tools were sharp and startled me out of sleep as soon as they touched my head. At the end of the service, the room REEKED of that "perm" smell, like burnt or chemically treated hair. I commented on it and assumed it was possibly another salon in the same area. She sprayed my hair with something in a pink, Dollarstore bottle and dried my hair with the same effort as a mom drying her kids hair after swimming, and it was still damp. I was 100% expecting a stylist blow out. When I left I looked at my still damp hair in the mirror and realized that not only that awful smell was MY hair, but that it was BONE DRY, as in...whatever had been used on it stripped my coloured hair and left it dry as straw. I didn't want to wash it again that day for as long as it had been in the water with who knows what on it. I slept on it over night after putting some hair oil on it. I washed it the next day and as soon as it got wet and when I applied heat tools that awful perm smell came back, so bad. It took me 3 weeks to get this smell out of my hair and restore moisture and tone to it with conditioning masks and toning conditioners. When I reached out to ask what the product was that she used on my hair and to inform her of my experience, she refused to answer as to what products were used. I just wanted to check the ingredients list and discuss with my hair stylist so I didn't further damage my hair. I didn't ask for a refund, just information and she stopped communicating completely. When I booked the service, I selected the one that included a face mask, but she "didn't receive her delivery that day" so I was supposed to get a "voucher" for a future visit. Now, I'm so glad I didn't have anything applied to my face. When I let her know, I suggested offering differing treatments, as I didnt need a chemical treatment and would have benefitted from a moisturizing treatment/mask. She just kept repeating they were dermatalogist approved/grade product...which is fine but you need to know how to use them. Anyway, I would not recommend this service for anyone with colour treated hair, dry hair or healthy hair and scalp. I think this is better suited for people that have scalp health issues and possibly close to a medical treatment...but the provider just doesn't have the essential knowledge to safely use these chemicals."
"I’ve been seeing Allison for over 7 years, she’s absolutely amazing! She can be very gentle, or give a good amount of pressure. She is always striving to improve your experience at Ambiance massage."
"I would highly recommend anyone to visit Corena! I always leave feeling relaxed and like a new person."
"The owner of El Masajista was very accommodating and the room was in did clean. The service was great and I almost felt asleep. I was satisfied that is why Mr Noel deserved a 5star. Keep it up for the good work."
"ML Nail & Spa is the best. Nancy and Steve and the rest of the staff are very professional and very artistic. This is the only place in Lethbridge that I trust my nails with. Thanks guys. You’re the best"
