"I had a good experience at the spa, weather was great for the beginning of November! Drinks and food were great, easy directions to arrive. Staff were friendly, locker rooms were clean. Robes did not stay dry long and once wet they just became heavy and did not dry in between pools. One thing I could suggest would be to have more hanging options for your robes at the pools. I enjoyed a facial and it was very relaxing and would definitely do it again!"

"I visit 8 Spa about once per month to help reduce my muscle tension and stress. Lili and Jessica are both very skilled in Asian style massage. Lili has a very cheerful positive personality (her English is a bit limited but we make it work with Google or WeChat translate). Jessica is also very friendly and her English is advanced enough for a good conversation. The environment is quiet and clean, there is street parking nearby and the price for the bundle of 5 sessions is similar to what is offered by other spas in the area. I tip the attendant directly in cash at about 30% in appreciation of her effort, knowledge, and availability at short notice."

"I had the best manicure there. Lina is the owner of the salon and takes really good care of her clients. You don't feel rushed like in other salons. I felt like for her it's more important to make sure she does a good job than to serve as many clients as possible (so rare these days!). The prices a very reasonable. I paid $10 more than I would pay in other salons for sheelac but the quality of work and service is outstanding! My nails are perfectly done, no hidden imperfections. I came home and tried to find any flaws and couldn't! Her products are very high quality. She tried to use natural products from Canadian brands. Everything speaks quality from the cream she uses, equipment to cuticle oil. It's the first time in my life when I leave the salon really happy without thinking I just wasted money on something I could've done better at home. If there is one place I can recommend to anyone in Ottawa, it is Fifth Ave Spa and Nails. A friend of mine recommended this place and I hope the good word will keep spreading!"

We had Tashane and Andrea and they were both very professional, knowledgeable and great at what they do. When I mentioned to Tashane that I worked out frequently and was often stiff as a result he knew exactly where to target and I walked away feeling so much better! Andrea offered my husband some really helpful tips for his sore back and alleviated some nagging pain. Overall I think we may have finally found the place we’ll go back to regularly! The direct billing to insurance was also a super convenient bonus. Highly recommend."

"Had a root touch up done at this salon with the cost of 130.00 plus tax. I was very unhappy with the service. The work was so sloppy. After washing and a blow-dry, I noticed several stain spots on the back of neck, on my cheek and around my ears. The stylist who did the blow dry has zero sense of how to style short hair. Not recommending this salon. I will not go back here."

"I've been experiencing lower back and neck problems for several years due to some heavy lifting activity and poor posture. "I have been receiving acupuncture treatments from Carlyn Brown every couple weeks for the last ten years, and I cannot say enough good things about how this has improved my general well-being. I initially went to Carlyn when I had a very painful shoulder problem, and we worked on it for months, such that it is no longer a problem at all. I also regularly have tight shoulders/neck (a result of working on a computer plus stress/tension), and Carlyn also improves this condition. In both cases, this has involved acupuncture but also acupressure, massage, cupping, etc. Importantly, when Carlyn asks how I've been -- she really, really listens to every fine point of my reply, compares my reply to her notes on what I said the last time(s), and then carefully chooses how she will treat me. I always feel better, more balanced. I look forward to my treatments and after all this time, I could not imagine doing without them."

"Ladies...perfect spot for a girl's outing or some kind of occasion, if you're a fan of spa's. There are 8 head spa beds in the room...what a party you could have! I had a 100 minute head spa with Melanie. She was incredible and I highly recommend her. In hindsight, I would have chosen a 70 min head spa as the 100 minute, although wonderful, was a bit too long. I will return though....the staff are all lovely!"

"Sophie is the real deal. I had a stiff neck and sore back and Sophie's strong hands and Chinese massage techniques fixed it. She can feel where you have tightness and target those spots. I have had massages for 20+ years and no one has ever fixed my aches and pains like Sophie has. So glad that I found her! I'll be back for sure."
