"I went here because I had some back and neck pain, and noticed the good reviews from the others. The massage felt good at the time but after that massage, my knees have been hurting since over a week. My knees were bent too much and too roughly during the massage.It's better to go to a registered massage therapist (RMT) instead and the extra price of going to RMT is worth it."

"This is a convenient location with friendly staff. There are a few issues however, that require addressing. The massage bed was concave (perhaps from overuse) so my back began to hurt halfway through. It was uncomfortable. Second, this spa does not provide 50 minutes of massage. They say it’s a “50 minute service.” By the time I was taken to the room and changed, the massage was only 40 minutes. It is my understanding that an hour is blocked for each service to accommodate change time, thus allowing for an accurately timed 50 minute massage. I was taken to the room at 11:31. The massage started at 11:39. It was over at 12:20 on the dot. I have never been to a massage that operates this way. It feels cheap, as though they are trying to get a quick turnover to squeeze in more appointments which makes me question how well rooms are sanitized between bookings. I don’t think I’ll return. I’d rather spend my money on a proper 50-60 minute massage with clean and comfortable rooms."

"Ashwati is a phenomenal body intuitive with a healing touch. I had a beautiful postpartum massage session with Ashwati. She is a magical human being and her Ayurvedic touch was what I was looking for during postpartum. The massage session with her was incredibly healing. It felt amazing and just what I needed in postpartum time. I continue to go back and receive massages from Ashwati because I feel so held, honored and cared for. She really takes her time, thoroughly working on the different areas and levels of your body. She infuses her hot oil massage and hot potli massage with beautiful energy healing as well as a deeply loving touch. I especially love the face, neck and incredible head rubs! The space and vibe of her practice is next level beautiful, super relaxing and it feels very comforting. That being said, it is of my highest honour to recommend Ashwati! She is gem beyond words!"

"I can only hope that there are better Hand and Stone locations. However, given my experience at this location, I won’t be trying any others. The only reason I went to Hand and Stone was because I received a gift card. First, $119 for 50 minutes is overpriced. I can have a full hour at my usual massage therapist for $95. Second, I paid an extra $18 for an aromatherapy scalp massage. I assumed that this ‘extra’ service would actually be extra. The aromatherapy scalp massage was barely five minutes and was INCLUDED in the 50 minutes - no extra time. Over decades of going to massage therapy, a scalp massage has ALWAYS been included in my time but NEVER at an extra charge. Third, whether the walls are too thin or people speak too loudly, I found I was distracted by people’s loud voices even though there was music playing in my room. The reason I gave two stars is because Steven did concentrate on the areas I specified and I understand he is only following policies with regard to the extra service - not his fault."
