this salon experience exceeded my expectations when going for an initial haircut! The staff was courteous and helpful. Received a relaxing scalp massage while washing my hair – could have fallen asleep as the chairs were extremely comfortable! The best part was my Stylist, Haven. She listened, Cut my Hair very close to what I imagined, and gave me styling tips as we went along. Very attentive, thorough and professional. Wonderful experience
Sonal is amazing at pampering and making her clients feel comfortable and relaxed. Sonal is very knowledgeable and a lovely person. Dawn is extremely welcoming and kind and knows her clients well. I look forward to seeing them both every time I go to the spa.
From the moment I entered, the atmosphere was relaxing with calming colors, soft lighting, gentle scents/music, and the staff so incredibly friendly and welcoming. I said to myself "This is it, this will be my mommy getaway/retreat" The staff has always been friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They are ALL well trained and capable of preforming the treatment effectively. I have tried multiple treatments these past 2 years including massages, lash lift/lash extensions, waxing, facials and getting my hair treatment/colored at the salon. As a busy mom, life happens and we tend to forget about our own needs! I decided to take a step out of my "comfort zone" and I am so very happy I did. Let me tell you, It became beneficial for everyone in my family because as the saying goes "A happy wife, a happy life"!! It is true ???? I feel AMAZING every time I leave there. I personally have found it theraputical as It has enhanced my confidence, overall well-being and knowledge of self-care practices. Thank you all for your amazing service, you truly all are an awesome staff/team at Talk of the town Salon & Day spa ❤️
To start with the good bits everyone was very friendly and attentive, the salon is gorgeous, even the bathroom! However I was getting my hair lightened from brown with some old blueish colour, and matching my roots which were already bleached. My hair is still blue in a lot of spots, and my stylist said she'd do half my hair on the second application but I was still charged for the whole head... My roots also don't even slightly match the rest of my hair. $340 to be just as patchy, dry and half-done looking if I did it myself is pretty disappointing. Especially since I was nearly charged 340 plus my $150 deposit on the way out. If I hadn't noticed how much the charge was on the debit machine I'd have paid nearly five hundred dollars for pretty shoddy work. This was my first salon experience, and I think I'll be sticking to doing my hair at home after this! Update: I can't find a way to reply to the response, but to clarify I do understand the waiver I signed I just don't understand how that effects the overall result, and my appointment was at 12:45 and I arrived at 1:15 due to the bus delay and unshoveled sidewalks. I was there for four hours, not leaving until nearly 5:00.
I'm absolutely appalled by the dismissive response from your shop regarding Liza’s distressing experience. It’s unconscionable that a client’s legitimate concern about having a mole ripped off during waxing is brushed aside with a casual “it’s normal.” This isn’t just a minor oversight—it's a failure in duty of care and proper communication. First and foremost, every client deserves to be fully informed about the risks involved, especially when dealing with sensitive areas like moles and skin tags. By not warning Liza about the possibility of such damage, your shop neglected to obtain proper informed consent, a fundamental standard in any service that impacts personal health. Simply labeling this incident as “normal” is not only unprofessional, but it also undermines the trust clients place in your expertise. Furthermore, the cavalier tone of your response shows a blatant disregard for the potential medical implications of such an injury. Moles can sometimes indicate more serious health issues, and any accidental damage should be treated with the utmost seriousness—both in terms of aftercare and in communication with the client. Instead, your response leaves Liza feeling invalidated and exposed to further harm. Your handling of this situation is not only ethically questionable, but it also reflects poorly on your commitment to client safety and empathy. If you claim to have an “extensive background in medical aesthetics,” then you should know that part of that expertise is ensuring clients are aware of all potential risks and treated with genuine care when something goes wrong. I urge you to reconsider your stance, take responsibility for the oversight, and implement clear protocols to ensure that clients are properly informed about any potential risks. Until then, it’s hard to trust that your establishment prioritizes the well-being of its clients over mere convenience. Liza’s experience is a stark reminder that every client deserves more than a dismissive, offhand explanation. We demand a higher standard of care and accountability from your shop.
I can not say enough about Talk of The Town salon and spa. I booked extremely last minute as I have a trip coming up and didn’t prepare properly. I called so many places and no one could help nor really want to help, until I called here and Dawn answered. Not only did they get me in for a hair appointment I was able to squeeze in a full self care day at the spa. Massage. Nails. Facial. They treated me like a queen all day. Incredibly down to earth staff who make you feel comfortable. Carley was incredible! Ricky did an amazing job on my hair. Leanne provided an amazing massage and cupping treatment which set the tone for the rest of the day. Thank you Haven for such a beautiful day with exceptional staff and service ! Will be back to book other treatments soon.
Everyone at Talk of the Town is friendly, knowledgable and professional. Walking into this hair salon or spa area, I feel like I am at home. For these reasons, I have been coming to Talk of the Town for the last several years. I would recommend this business to anyone. I would give it more that 5 stars if I could.
Best place I've ever been too. Me and my daughter have been going for years. Everyone's always so nice and welcoming and hair always looks amazing!!!!
