I don't like to leave negative reviews. However this was the second time we came and it will be the last. We had to use up a gift card reason for second visit. My sister in law and I get together every couple of months do something fun then go for lunch. The first time we came we were blown away how pretty the place was and relaxing . There was no one to greet us. After waiting for 5 minutes we ended up calling to make sure someone was there. No one answered we were surprised . Wondered who left the door unlocked and why is no one there. Turns out reception comes in much later and the therapists were all busy. It's a shame no one is there earlier as while we were waiting we would have loved to have purchased a few things. The massage therapist are absolutely amazing we had Jessica , Dawn and Lindsay. During our two visits. Such incredible massages. However I would highly recommend the receptionist Mitzi get trained a bit better. For someone who only works short hours she should have a bit better attitude and better customer service. Greeting people asking how they are...etc. After our first visit in November we booked our next appointment it took her over 10min to do so . Even though we gave her the specifics ( 2 people same time Tues or Thursday) she kept saying "oh that one is just for one of you, oh I have a Wednesday for you." I work in customer service myself and by the end even my patience was running thin. When she finally found an appointment in January took our gift card stated everything was paid in full. When we went yesterday as we were about to leave she was like oh you owe extra money. Pardon me? We paid in full prior to our visit. She said prices have increased since our last visit and now we have an outstanding balance. We paid but it left such a terrible taste in our mouths. We will not be returning and I don't recommend it at all , despite the excellent service we received by the therapists.
I very rarely leave reviews, especially anything under 5 star, but I do have some constructive feedback that I hope can be out to good use :) I’ve gotten multiple infrared sauna sessions here over the past 1.5 years and I absolutely love the atmosphere of this place. It’s light, clean, and calming. The reason for the 3-star review is every single time I came in for my appointment, I feel rushed, but it’s only and always from one particular staff member. She is usually at reception and gets the sauna ready, I think her name starts with a M and she has shoulder-length black hair. Before I arrive, I’m feeling excited about my sauna session, but then come out feeling stressed because of feeling rushed, the opposite of what I’m buying these sessions for. I stopped going for a couple of months because of this (it happened every time) and then went back for one more session today and the same thing happened again. Instead of being met with “Hi how are you?” it’s “Hi the sauna is ready, but I need the sauna at 12:30 for another person”. This energy, especially in a spa setting, is slightly jolting. Then when I came out of my session 2-3 minutes early, the same staff member heard me open the door and ran over to clean it, I was still walking out the door of the treatment room… she saw me and then quickly walked the other way. Note: The place was not busy during this time. I saw one other person during my 30 mins there, so I don’t understand the hastiness. I honestly love the look and feel of 3 Tides and my time during my sauna session, it’s just this one staff member that causes anxiety and I don’t feel that welcomed. Kinda gives off “military / hurry up / inconvenience” energy. What I recommend: Putting a time buffer in between sauna sessions on the booking page so there’s at least 10-15 minutes in between sessions so people don’t feel rushed to come and go and possibly putting a little timer inside of the sauna room that dings when there’s 5-10 minutes left in the session so the staff don’t have to say they need the sauna for another person at a particular time, as soon as you walk in the door.
I’ve been going to Three Tides for the last few months after my friend recommended their massage services. I absolutely love the calming and relaxing environment. Sarah is a wonderful RMT and I always leave feeling so much lighter! I also love that they offer early morning appointments so I can go before work and feel energized for the day. Highly recommend!
Highly recommend this new treasure in Uptown Waterloo! This lovely old home has been renovated from top to bottom and is a pleasure to behold. You will notice the calming energy as soon as you enter and they have lots of thoughtful little touches throughout that will make your visit feel extra special. From the slippers at the front entrance, Turkish towels for use in the infrared sauna, to the delightful squares of locally sourced dark chocolate at reception. My 90 minute massage with Lindsay Schmalz was wonderful, looking forward to seeing her again and their online booking process is a breeze to navigate.
My energy healing session with Natalie was pure bliss. Not only did she create a warm and welcoming environment, but she also took the time to listen attentively to my needs before we began. The treatment itself was a deeply meditative journey. Natalie incorporated crystals placed on my body, calming music, soothing sounds from a singing bowl, and another instrument that mimicked the ocean's rhythm. I left the session feeling transformed, and it set the tone for a fantastic weekend. Natalie's genuine kindness and her expertise in Reiki make her a true gem in the Kitchener-Waterloo community!
Lindsay is awesome! Been going to her for a few years and she knows how to do her job very well! Always feel loose and relaxed after leaving :) Thanks Lindsay! The clinic also very nice and everyone is super friendly there!
Was looking for someone to do Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage for my right ankle which I fractured terribly 10 years ago and now live with constant swelling due to all the metal that is in both sides of my leg/ankle. Double the need to find someone knowledgeable, experienced and trusted as I suffer from slight lymphodema after having lymph nodes removed in my axilla on both my left and right sides. Lindsay took the time to understand my concerns and explain what she was doing and the positive impacts on my body (reduce swelling naturally, detoxify my body, improve my immune system). I loved that she targeted the whole body not just the obvious problem areas. This helped to get the lymphatic fluids moving. I honestly could not believe the difference in my lower leg and ankle and the reduced swelling by the next day and even now as I write this review. Lindsay also taught me the 6 areas I can work on to perform the MLD in between appointments. I appreciated this and told her so when I went back to see her for another LMD. I could kick myself (with my good foot/ankle) for not trying MLD years earlier, having said that Lindsay has made me a believer and I appreciate that she is a partner in my wellness journey. As far as Three Tides Wellness, it is an absolute oasis for wellness. It's an absolutely beautiful space inside and out and the energy and the vibe is calm, peaceful, restorative. You can tell that so much thought was given to creating a client-focused experience where the design, the esthetics, the broad spectrum of services offered and of course, the talented team who provide these services are all integral to a phenomenal experience. A true treasure! P.S. Their IG page is wonderful....give them a follow. They offer great info and tips too!
I received an Ayurvedic Head Massage from Natalie yesterday. Wow, unbelievable. Very Nourishing for the nervous system and reduced my pain by 90%. Natalie is a great healer and has great energy. I would highly recommend her services to anyone.
