Visited earlier this past summer with a friend and had a manicure from Riley. She made great conversation but I felt she was condescending about my choice of rounded tips on my short nails and choosing polish instead of gel. She filed them square even after I asked her to round them out more and pushed me to get a bright colour when I initially chose a neutral one. I have had my nails done enough before to know that this was odd, and I ended up rubbing off the polish and filing my nails down back to round as soon as I got home. Maybe I just didn't make my preferences clear enough, but I really felt pushed towards things I didn't want. I'm sure she is great at other services, but I will not come back for my nails.

Had a few of my family members makeup done for a wedding. One of my family members makeup could have looked better if my 12 year old daughter had done it.. Another one of my family members (age 65) had made her look like she fell in a bowl of setting powder, which in turn smudged her eye makeup around her eyes (and the setting powder being 2 shades too light). When trying to observe the one family member having her makeup done-the stylist had basically excused me to walk away while she was working. Unfortunately nothing was able to fixed as it was a wedding day for some- and time was crunched. So myself and a few further family members had to step in and fix the damage-which wasn’t great, considering we’re not “makeup professionals”. Thanks anyways guys, great atmosphere though :)

I had an appointment to have my hair cut last month. I'm happy with my hair cut and my stylist whom I've been going to since 2018. I included a tip when I paid by debit. When I got home and looked at my receipt I realized that the 15% tip I selected was based on the total which INCLUDED the HST. I'm not impressed. Tax should not be included in the calculation of tips. Be aware of this when tipping by machine. Meanwhile, Evoke, please fix this!

Got a hair cut from Tony and he started to massage my back, shoulders and neck without asking me if i wanted that. Came for a hair cut and not to get massaged. Really felt uncomfortable during my cut. Wont be coming back here. I dont recommend this business. Very expensive hair cut aswell. The cut looked good. So he is a good barber but can't get over the fact that he thought it was okay to massage me.

I am continuously impressed with my service at Evoke. The staff is personable, kind and more then happy to help. Amanda takes her time with my hair and I never feel like I’m being rushed out or like her attention is being juggled between multiple clients like at other salons. I’m constantly amazed at how many services Amanda provides when doing my hair and at such a reasonable price. I’m very happy with Evoke.

They were really nice. Good atmosphere. It was really pricey for a simple cut though. Would recommend for girls who don't mind a 50-90$ haircut. I am cheap though and have had just as good cuts for half the price. But they are one of the best salons in town I am sure no doubt.
