"Trying to book an appointment and the owner because she realizes the job is not a lot of money she tells wrong date of next appointment instead of just saying what you want me to do is not worth my time. Not a good look especially since there are not a lot of the same in the area but would rather travel to salons in Brampton where they value business no matter how big or small said business is. I would not recommend this place to anyone who lives in the tri-city or Wellington County area, I would tell them to drive to Brampton or Mississauga as their business would be more valued there. Horrible business practices."
"Horrible hair experience. I had my hair braided cornrows with extensions. My hair started falling out within 3 days and by day 5 my braids started to become loose and coming apart from the rest of the braids. Called and left messages and messaged on FB but have had no feedback, call back or advice how to keep them in more proper. What a waste of $70 to have my hair done for 3 days. Will never got back for hair services"
"My step-daughter just got her hair braided with extensions and loves it!! I was really nervous about it but we both couldn't be happier!! Thank you so much!!! We will definitely be back. :D"
"Fantastic, intimate little salon offering the absolute best waxing services I have ever had in this city. Esther is really fastidious about ensuring ALL the hair is gone. Full service hair and aesthetics right here in the Ward."
"Would Like to say that my experience today was a magical one I would refer this lady to anybody. She is professional kind very personable and makes you feel as comfortable as you can be. And my hair looks amazing thank you so much five stars fom me,Only because that’s all we’re allowed :)"
"Ester is awesome and did a fantastic job with my hair! She will be getting all my referrals!"
"Ester did a fabulous job on my teenage daughters hair! Will definitely go back over and over again!"
"Cornrows turned out really well. I recommend Caribbean Experience to anyone looking for a braid up."
"Disappointing Cleanliness Standards at MOVATI Athletic I’ve been a member for a long time, back when it was still called “The Athletic Club.” It used to be a great place, but lately, cleanliness has become a major issue. Despite the club’s claims of maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, my recent visits have shown otherwise. For example, under the lip of the hot tub, there’s visible grime and buildup that’s been there consistently. This is just one example of areas being neglected. Considering the membership fee is about $100 a month (which adds up to $1,200 annually), you’d expect a higher standard, especially when the club boasts about maintaining cleanliness. Unfortunately, it seems like that standard is no longer being met. Machines are frequently broken, and the pool area could use more attention. The showers are another major issue—handles are out of whack, there are shavings in the corners, moldy spots, and a terrible smell, likely due to the drains. It’s disappointing to see these ongoing issues in a place that should prioritize hygiene. With 15,000 members paying for this service, I would expect better upkeep. The management really needs to address these concerns if they want to keep their reputation intact. Feel free to adjust the tone or add further details if you’d like."
"I have had a horrible experience at Movati, and it was only my second time in the building. My cousin had called previously to verify me to make sure I could come in, as I had a pass previous, than being told by the supervisor (Taylor) that I wasn’t allowed another week pass as it “hadn’t been a full year”, and we drove 20 minutes from Cambridge so she could introduce me to the gym as I haven’t been in a while, and it wasn’t up to standard. The manager was extremely nonchalant, rude and dismissive of our situation, stating there was nothing he could do without an ID as it “was policy”. Then why do you have staff members saying that everything is clear and we can just come in and get started? Then speaking to Cindy (who handled it with grace and kindness) apologized and moved us to a supervisor, who was kind up until the end. She was again dismissive and saying there was nothing she could do to help us. Giving us meaningless apologies. Even the general manager “will tell us the same thing”, when my cousin wanted her contract voided. I think the staff need more training and their communication skills need to be evaluated to help the paying members and possible future members feel welcome and comfortable. I also think these contracts shouldn’t exist because they aren’t the standard, they make no sense. They seem like death contracts and that makes me a little nervous. I highly recommend going to another gym, this isn’t the first time my cousin has had an issue with this gym and their staff members, but I will be my last time hearing or experiencing it."
"I’ve been to 5 different Movati Gyms and this is the only one without standards for equipment and maintenance. The only good thing about this location is that the employees are nice. 1. The women’s area has not had proper AC for months to the point it often is so humid it feels like Florida. Every time we complain we’re told “it’s an HVAC problem”. Yeah of course it is - I pay $100 a month to work out in a gym with a women’s only area… fix it? It’s so hot in there I’m often cutting my workouts off early. 2. The equipment. There isn’t a single smith machine in the entire gym that goes low enough to do hip thrusts on. The only smith machine in the women’s area was never used because it was installed backwards for months. Now it’s turned the right way but still no one uses it because a) you’re making direct eye contact with the person on the hip abductor which is less than a single meter away which is incredibly awkward and b) most women want to use the machine for hip thrusts as the designated hip thrust machine hurts over certain weights for those with an outward facing pelvis. My friends and I are going to be looking for another gym. How disappointing"
"Two visits in to a 30 day trial membership and I am SO impressed with every aspect of this club. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Equipment is amazing... nice to try out some new pieces that are not at my regular hometown gym in Cambridge! Impressive in all ways!"
"The amenities are great as well as Tanya for Pilates. However, the staff is so rude and they kick you out of the sauna mid day to clean it when realistically this should be done either before or after hours of operation. Let alone the rules of the sauna! You can not be naked in there and genuinely there should be a mass email sent out to your clients because nobody wants to see that."
"*UPDATE* MOVATI has improved the layout of the women’s only area since I wrote my original review below. Many machines have been fixed and I haven’t detected the odour previously mentioned the last few times I’ve been at the gym. Good work to management and their team working on improvements. Therefore I’ve changed my rating from 1 to 4 stars. My previous review: I switched to Movati over a year ago after leaving another gym in Guelph. I decided to pay slightly more for more services and amenities. Unfortunately I have found Movati does not prioritize the needs of its members equally. Several things have been bothering me for a while about Movati (particularly the smell of burnt broccoli that can often be smelled throughout the gym) but what led me to write this review is the blatant neglect of the women’s only area. It has always bothered me that there is only ONE squat rack in the women’s section but over 10 treadmills. I almost always have to superset with someone or wait a while to have a turn on the squat rack because there is high demand for it. The reason I’m writing this review is because it appears the women’s only area has become a storage space for broken and dysfunctional equipment (photos attached). The women’s weight area is already small and crowded, there is now completely unusable equipment strewn about the area. Not only is it annoying, I find it disrespectful. I regularly use the co-Ed section but prefer to do glute exercises in the women’s section. I’ve never seen broken equipment stored in the co-Ed area despite it being a much larger space. In conclusion, I hope they add more squat racks to the women’s section, move all the broken equipment out of the way, and identify the source of the burnt broccoli smell."
"I love this gym! There is lots of variety of classes and the quality of instructors is fabulous! From Steph to Emma to Katherine B Thankyou for your passion and genuine enthusiasm ! Lots of machines , no wait and cherry on top is the Hot Steam room ! The cleaning staff do a great job , super clean !"
"I always loved this gym till one day I used to sauna, due to a broken bench beam, it ripped a hole in my almost new Lululemon leggings. I had to contact management multiple times over the next few weeks to address this, only to be told it was "use at your own risk." For the high fees and paying for maintenance, why do I now have to throw out or go to a seamstress and pay to get my property fixed. No accountability."
"Gym member only but from what I've experienced, the facilities are top notch and super clean. I would reccomend it to anyone"
"Super service"
Table à massage confortable.
