We had a wonderful stay at the Monastery Inn Hotel. While we didn’t use the spa services, we were very impressed with the accommodations. Our room was spacious, clean, and a nice surprise—there was a jacuzzi, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The location was okay - about a 20-minute walk to the downtown core, and the neighborhood was peaceful. The breakfast included with our booking was incredibly generous and delicious. The on-site restaurant was a lovely touch and offered great value. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely recommend it!
Left spa feeling amazing. Had sheer indulgence package of three services and it was worth every penny. Dana was amazing and made me feel so pampered and comfortable. All of the staff were so friendly and the beautiful atmosphere was so relaxing and pleasant. Had lunch at bistro and staff there too made me feel so welcome. Would definitely recommend a day to pamper yourself there..
My partner and I stayed one night and, while we didn’t avail of any of the spa services, we didn’t feel we needed to with how enjoyable our time spent relaxing in the room was. To start, parking was easy to find and we were greeted warmly. The room was simple yet modern with a cozy vibe. It was surprisingly spacious and exceptionally clean (I would say that the cleanliness was one of the most notable parts). The fireplace and giant tub were definitely the highlights and added to the warm and cozy feeling and the tub featured lights and jets which added to the experience. The room was fully equipped with whatever may be needed : toiletries of all kinds (toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, shave cream, Aveda body lotion, makeup removing wipes, shower cap, Aveda shampoo, conditioner and body wash), towels, coffee/tea, luggage stand, iron/ironing board, mini fridge, hair dryer, robes… From someone who loves a good hair product, the “Aveda” ones were particularly memorable. Using it felt like coming from a salon and the scent is amazing and lingers after you shower. The essential oils in the different products made it feel like we had our own little spa in the room but was not overwhelming. The shower, like the rest of the room, was quite literally sparkling clean and the water pressure was heavenly. When we ordered room service it was surprisingly fast and the food was delicious (and there was plenty of it!) When we requested a later check out we were gladly accommodated. I wish we stayed another night because leaving that cozy bed with the world’s most comfortable pillow was tough. I truly couldn’t suggest anything negative about the stay overall. It was simply an enjoyable and seamless experience that warranted a detailed review. With how much we enjoyed it, I wouldn’t hesitate to explore the other services offered during the next stay.
went yere for a 3 day, 2 night long trip. the rooms were really nice but the floor boards were misaligned which caused us to trip on them in the late night or in the early morning (small complaint i know but my poor toes yall). the price was a little steep in terms of what u get for ur dollar. id go back if i had to but id probably try another place for the price. oddly hard to find aswell but its St. Johns, the place is like a corn maze anyways????
The service is good, if you can actually get through. They seldom answer the phones and if you leave a message the chances of getting a call back are rare. This is my typical experience trying to make an appointment: I call during hours they are open. The phone tree asks me to press 1 for the hotel and 2 for spa services. I press 2, but the hotel picks up anyway. I tell them I want to book a spa appointment and they say they will transfer me. The phone rings until i get the answering machine, which tells me to call back when they are open or leave a message. I enjoy being a customer and continue to come for the quality of the services but if I was a new customer I would not come back because of how difficult it is. I would book online but that tool does not include all the services offered by the spa, so I either have to call or go in person just to book. They seriously need to fix the phone system.
Plenty of parking, very friendly staff and a great experience with the girls who did our wellness pedicures. The goodness smoothie was lacking however it was a bit to thick and had a sort of off putting taste.
Top notch serves!! Beautiful historical building makes your spa experience even more remarkable. Very professional staff. They made me feel very comfortable and the serves was 5 stat.
I had a disappointing experience with the MediSpa today. I have gone twice before for laser hair removal prior to today. The first two times were painless and the pick with great service. No concerns. Today the first pulse of the laser hurt a lot. I expressed that to the technician. She continued and the painfulness continued. It was nothing like the first two times I had been there. Instantly my lip was burning and it felt slightly swollen. The tech applied what I assume was cooling lotion and I left. It continued to burn for the rest of the morning and when I got home to look in the mirror there were three areas where I actually had burns on my lip. Minor burns, but very visible none the less. Right away I called the Spa and spoke to the receptionist who listened to my concern about the machine possibly not working properly, and she said she would speak to the tech and call me back. I waited two hours with no reply and so I called and asked to speak to a manager. I was sent to her voicemail and she never did return my call. I finally heard back from the receptionist who tried to convince me that it was something I had used different on my skin that caused a “reaction”. I knew that wasn’t the case so I replied that it wasn’t a reaction, it was burns. Then she assured me that the tech used the same level of laser that she had used the first two times and advised me that I should seek medical attention if I felt it necessary. The point of me calling in the first place was to make them aware to check the machine as it may not be working properly and to avoid anyone else getting burnt. In return instead of them thanking me for calling I got a defensive reply assuring me they did nothing wrong. I did not call for medical advice, nor did I expect any type of compensation, but the way they turned it around on the defense as if I did something wrong was so disheartening. I still have a balance on my gift card, but I won’t be returning. Very poor customer service.
