The place is beautiful, very well kept and maintained. The two different sauna rooms are nice, one is a barrel style and the other a traditional water on stone. The steam room is definitely the nicest I’ve ever experienced, and their large hot pool is nice. I enjoyed the cold plunge, I like the waterfall feature, its a nice touch and keeps the water very cold. The only thing I could say is their no photo policy rule is very strict. I understand not to have pics of people for privacy purposes but I think it should be allowed only if no one else can be seen or taking a selfie with your spouse or family. Highly recommend this Nordic spa to locals and travellers.

Nice venue for a spa, overlooking the city. The hot water pool lacked filtration, with an extreme amount of flies, midges, hair and other unknown floaters - it was disgusting. During the entire 5 hours we were there, one staff member went once to try and remove some of the floaters using a pool skimmer net, but it wasn't enough. I saw customers take it upon themselves to attempt cleaning the pool themselves using the skimmer net. Definitely concerning being a spa. Needless to say we stayed away from the pool.

USVA Spa was absolutely amazing. Every amenity was in perfect working order, and the environment was deeply peaceful—lying outside, listening to birdsong mingled with soft music, felt like relaxation on a whole new level. The saunas were spacious, the eucalyptus-scented steam room did wonders for clearing my sinuses, and the cold plunge was perfectly (and terrifyingly!) cold in the best way. I also had a deep tissue massage, which was both professional and deeply soothing—exactly what I needed. A couple of small notes: I wish they provided spa slippers, as I hadn’t packed mine (being from out of town). Also, not all services were available when I booked—hot stone massage and facials weren’t offered that day—so I ended up spending part of my spa day elsewhere. That said, I booked very last minute, and USVA still went above and beyond to fit me in. They even recommended the second spa I visited, which shows the level of care and service they provide. Highly recommend, especially if you’re looking for a serene and well-maintained thermal spa experience. Just plan ahead if you’re hoping to book add-ons or specialty services the same day.

Wifey and I booked for some relaxation. While the facilities are nice, it was over crowded and at times made it difficult to take in the full experience. Some folks have absolutely no idea what “silence” or “whisper” are as we could hear full on conversations taking place from across the area which took away from the experience. Staff taking walk throughs could have rectified that issue easy enough. Aside from staff at reception when we were greeted, only one other staff member seen in the 3 hours we were there with a squeegee outside the steam sauna. The heated pool was extremely dirty with lots of floaters and hair in it. Better filtration needed. Still had a good experience but it certainly could have been better.

I purchased a gift card for my wife and step daughter for Christmas. They both deserve a weekend away. However, we’ve been unable to book anything. Putting their booking calendar up 30 days in advance with essentially only weekday availability, leaves out of area potential customers left out in the cold. What was supposed to be a thoughtful gift has turned into a customer who will never use the facilities into a disappointment and frustration for my wife a step daughter. Would not recommend and will advise never ever to buy a gift certificate form USVA Spa

What a gem! Run don’t walk to this beautiful outdoor spa. It’s absolutely perfect, not crowded when we went, clean and so relaxing that we didn’t want to leave. Take a book, water bottle and flip flops.. great place, I’ll be back!

I was here last June and I am returning in two weeks. I’m hoping it’s better then the last time. Staff was great menus again little but awesome. Would like to see more added. Was just a little crowded in the main dipping pool and I endured a lot of what I thought was floaties but dead skin. It was all in the water it was gross. Overall besides that I had a great drive from halifax and experience. Just recommend maybe stronger filters. Going this time for meddicupping and a different time of the year so looking forward to it.

Very lovely spa and experience. The hydrotherapy treatment not only feels great, but my skin looked amazing after. Massage therapist was awesome, she knew her stuff. The staff is fairly strict on keeping noise at a wisper to make it a quiet, relaxing place. The only thing I would say is that the warming pooling could have been maybe 5 degrees warmer. Beautiful spot!!
