"I booked at Unity Massage on Dakota (in the strip mall with Crusty Bun and Dakota Vet Hospital). I went there twice before and had a bad experience but I thought to myself, if I book with someone different and actually speak up and say what I want, it'll be fine right? Wrong. I spoke up and said why I was there (pain in the upper back area on my left side). He did a quick assessment and noted that my right side seemed worse( that's great but my right side isn't hurting, it's my left). I also added to please stay away from my lower back as whenever someone massages that area, it really hurts. But that normally it doesn't hurt at all. He wanted to do an assessment on my lower back and treat the area. I said no because I wasn't there for that and we have limited time as it is (only a 30 min massage). Anyone touching that area just makes me really uncomfortable. I also specifically said I'm there to relax, and that I wanted more or less a relaxation massage. He told me he doesn't really do that. What? (Don't massage therapists go to school to lean this technique?) And that he does more therapeutic massage which may be a bit painful but that I'll get relief. Great. So you don't listen to your clients needs? Off to a great start. I knew I was in for trouble. To try and make a long story short, he spent about 10 minutes on both my right and left hand side of my back, the whole back, not just focusing on where it hurt, and after that told me to flip over. He worked on my neck, shoulder area (pulling on my arms) and then proceeded to massage my scalp but it wasn't really massaging it was more like putting pressure and holding it there. He did all over my scalp, forehead, cheeks, jaw, chin, and to top it off put pressure on my ears and earlobes. When I flipped he had spent a good 15 minutes doing this. So no more back work obviously. I felt I had already spoke up in the beginning letting him know my problem area, but it was pointless. I also thought once I flipped, he'd work more on my upper back which sometimes they do. That didn't happen. After it was all over, he asked how I felt and I said well I'm still sore and I wish more time had been spent on the area that hurt, instead of working on my scalp, and face and ears. He says ," oh, everything is connected." I don't even know what to say at this point I just wanted to get out of there. I paid the $60, and drove home angry and still in pain. This was the third time I have tried this place and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. What ever happened to LISTENING TO THE CLIENT?"

"Lucas was an excellent masseuse. I have had knee pain on and off for years, 5 days later and my knee feels better than it has in a very long time. He asked for feedback throughout the 1 hr session and was constantly checking on my pain and comfort levels. I would definitely return."

"In April, I booked a massage with Lucas and it was frankly, one of the worst massage experiences I've ever had. I walked into the room and the sheets of the massage table smelled mouldy, as if they had been forgotten in the washer overnight. I tried to keep an open mind because I was keen to get a massage anyway. I then met Lucas, my RMT. He wasn't very friendly either but I blew that off because he looked as if he hadn't slept well and English wasn't his first language. Then I noticed right away he was very sick with a sinus infection as he was sniffling a lot. We start the massage and he starts having to blow his nose. I was getting grossed out because he was doing this and not washing his hands. He stopped massaging me and went to grab a mask. Then he continued to sniffle under his mask and went as far as to blow his nose with one hand and massage me with the other. I had to ask him to stop the massage because I didn't want to catch his cold and spread it to my family later. He got very defensive about it and told me it was just seasonal allergies. I went to the front to complain to the receptionist and she informed me I would be charged for a half-hour massage. This seemed unfair, given the poor quality of service but I didn't want to get into an argument with the service staff. The receptionist was very cold and apathetic to the situation. I asked her to have the manager phone me and I never heard back. That was over a month ago. I'm disappointed with the poor service I received at Unity Massage and don't recommend trying it if you're looking for a good massage that won't get you sick."

"Absolutely love going to Tru Spa. Lindsay is fantastic! This is the only place that I can get my nails done and they are healthy, long and beautiful. I get so many compliments on them! I love how the gel nails are not too thick like other types I’ve gotten from other salons. If I want to “take a break” from getting my nails done, my nails are still strong and healthy underneath! I’ve also gotten a spray tan done here and was so happy with the results. Highly recommend!!"
