"I booked a few treatments at the spa as a hotel guest. The facial was amazing; I would highly recommend it. The staff was very friendly and lovely, and I really liked the decor of the rooms. I do have to say that my manicure was disappointing—the polish job specifically; it was uneven coverage, really thick in some places, lots of air bubbles, and started chipping less than 24 hours later. I liked the teas and flavoured water offered. The access to the spa amenities is just the hotel pool and hot tub area; if I were a day guest and not a hotel guest, I would have felt let down by that. I wouldn't call it a luxury spa. Overall, the experience was just okay."

"My experience was a mixed bag. The facial was excellent—easily 5 stars. The aesthetician was skilled, attentive, and delivered a fantastic treatment. The massage was a 1 star letdown. The therapist didn’t check in on the pressure, which was almost non-existent, and failed to address the tight areas in my back and neck. Instead of working on the knots, he just communicated that my C3 was "here", then applied pressure for literally 3-5 seconds, moved on to my C4, did the same thing, then moved onto oiling other areas in a seemingly random pattern. He never returning to the problem areas he pointed out. After I turned onto my back, he left my feet and left side of my body uncovered, which made me feel cold and uncomfortable. When the massage was over, he covered my eyes and left the room without saying a word. It felt confusing and I didn't realize it was over. Not a good massage at all:( To top it off, he advised that I should have weekly massages because 2 regions of my back were very tight. If that was the case, why didn’t he focus on those areas and with proper pressure?! More confusion... When the young woman front desk asked about my experience, I gave her my feedback, and she was very kind and insisted on making it right. She called the manager who comped the massage. While that wasn’t what I was aiming for, I really appreciated the gesture and felt like they genuinely wanted to address my concerns. Overall, while the facial was fantastic, the massage missed the mark. The staff's effort to resolve the situation is worth noting, but I wouldn't return for a massage."

"Vintage Hotels does not offer exceptional experiences! Your staff is rather rude and snarky! I had been to other spas and never dealt with that type of behaviour. I celebrated two birthdays at Pillar and Post and the Secret Garden Spa. I had requested a warm room when I booked my massage and a body wrap at Pillar. On the day of, I confirmed the room would be warm by reception. The massage was excellent, and the RMT kept me warm. The aesthetician who did my body wrap was snarky when I commented the room was cold. She didn’t prepare my room by bringing in a heated blanket/pad. She cut my treatment time by looking around for the heated blanket. Why didn’t she prepare for one? Last week, I booked a massage at the Secret Garden Spa. I specifically asked for the room to be warm when I booked it. When I walked into the room, it was cold. When I said the room was cold to the RMT. She was baffled and said, “This the warmest room. I took this one because the other one is cold.” She made me feel my request was unreasonable. I swam before my treatment (this is never an issue at other spas like Blitz), and she commented that it was my fault for swimming and that it would suck the heat. Reception never warned me not to swim before my treatment; she knew I went to the pool. The RMT was very rude, and I wasn’t comfortable during my treatment. I understand the buildings are old, and the heating system is different; However, can’t the spas invest in a room heater or a heated bed? If you can’t provide a warm room, don’t book people who get cold easily. In both situations, the receptionist tried to compensate. At Pillar, they gave me a discount and at the Secret Garden Spa, they provided me with samples. But, I am still very annoyed. I chose Vintage Hotels as a day to celebrate and relax. I ended up being very disappointed and upset. I will never return or recommend it."

"Our experience was not what you would expect from a spa. My husband and I each booked a facial and a massage. The facial was amazing! She did an excellent job and it was so relaxing. But it goes downhill from there. The spa “amenities” is just the hotel pool… so when you’re in your robe trying to relax, you have everyone else from the hotel there (which is mainly kids who want to use the pool) when you’re trying to relax. The only other room they have is the waiting room. Which is supposed to be quiet and relaxing, but there were workers constantly walking in and out and talking loud, doing actual maintenance while guests are there. And the massage I received was… the most strange experience. First of all… the person who gave me my massage smelt so badly. And he was SO rough! Not when it came to the pressure.. but everything was so fast and rough and he would literally keep shaking me. I was so confused and tense the entire time. We left feeling so upset because their prices are so high for what you actually get. For anyone looking to go to a spa in the area, I would not recommend this location. It was so disappointing."

"My wife and I came here and each received a facial and a massage. The facial was great. But when they told us we had access to the spa “amenities” for the day, I felt it was false advertising. The amenities is just the pool attached to the hotel. Full of people and was dirty. The massage I had was just ok. But the room was so cold and uncomfortable. I’m leaving this review so people are aware that when they say you have access to luxurious spa amenities, it’s just the hotel pool and hot tub. In my opinion, this was not worth the high prices they charge. I’m very disappointed with what they had to offer."

"I stayed at the hotel for my birthday and booked the revival package followed by a deep tissue massage the next day. My appointment started 40 minutes late despite being there early for my appointment. I understand mistakes happen but there was minimal service recovery. My scrub left my skin feeling great but the room was freezing. My facial was OK but the products used left my skin feeling greasy and also had an unpleasant musky odour. My pores particularly in my t zone did not feel clean, even though the service itself was relaxing. The saving grace was my deep tissue massage which was fantastic. I wish more was done on my first day."

"I was taken to the Secret Garden Spa for a surprise massage and it was one of the best of my life!!! The ambiance is very welcoming and calming, the processes of check-in and getting ready are seamless, and the massage itself was incredible. Abs (Absul) was ABSolutely wonderful! He was very conscious of walking through the options and checked in with me for comfort on the pressure level throughout. I highly recommend! We cannot wait to return!"

"Very disappointed in our experience at the Spa. Our appointment was for 10am. We checked in at 10:03am due to some issues with parking. The receptionist was hostile and told us we were late and was very anxious. She exaggerated what time it was a few times. I called her on it and showed her the time on my iPhone. My husband asked to go to the bathroom and she was very annoyed with him and told him the time again and told us we didn't have time to put robes on. The massage itself was good not great. The massage table was not heated and the blankets were frayed and did not feel at all "luxurious." Our massages were cut short by 15 minutes. We were still charged the full amount. It felt as though we were in trouble with the school principal. We've never experienced a spa treat us like this, EVER. We've never had a spa purposely try to stress us out before our massages. Seems like the opposite of what their goal should be. Their attitude was terrible. The manager told us they had back to back bookings all day. It's a little surprising that they would schedule themselves that tight all day that a 3 minute late arrival would throw the whole system off. We've never, ever experienced anything like this at any other spa ever. Nothing in the paperwork said a 10am appointment meant you have to be on the table at 10am. We were on vacation trying to de-stress- and this experience created a lot of stress. We were charged for their spa mismanagement and overbooking. Three minutes should never make that big of a difference to their system! The manager took 20 percent off when we complained. But, that didn't even cover the amount of time we were shorted- let alone erase the stress they created with their hostile behavior. We will never go back. And, we will tell everyone we know to schedule a massage elsewhere in Niagara on the Lake. (BTW- also had a bad experience with the spa a couple years back. Didn't complain or write a review at that time. But it's worth noting that their customer service and attitude has a long way to go!)"
