Got my hair cut by Rania on Thursday and I can’t say how much I recommend her! I asked her to cut my hair to make it look healthy again (it was really long and unhealthy looking) and she made it look and feel so good! I will definitely be going back! Highly recommend!
I learned if the Uptown Spa during COVID when I was looking for a particularly clean place to get my nails done, and I wasn’t disappointed! I have since continued to go for laser hair removal, electrolysis and waxing in addition to nails. The atmosphere of the spa is lovely - quiet, and soothing, elegant yet comfortable. The reception staff are always warm and helpful. Natasha is my go to for laser - she is a lovely, person and is thorough, I have had excellent results!!
the wax was amazing raya was super nice for my legs, ronya was amazing and gave a beautiful result of straightening my hair and trimming with amazing hair advice, rita was amazing with my nails so sweet amazing conversation and amazing nail results and the reception was nice
I have never been so infuriated. I was gifted an Uptown spa package. The appt was cancelled multiple times due to estheticians not being available, which was understandable post Covid. After multiple failed attempts at an appointment that stuck, I suggested a refund which the spa readily agreed to - it was obvious they were severly short staffed and couldn't keep up with the packages they sold or regular appointments. Then they just never enacted the refund Multiple email messages gone unanswered, and so many calls where I'm promised a call back, and nothing. This business couldn't honour the package they sold, agreed to a refund, then ghosted me. It's absurd to be treated like a second Tinder date by a gd business entity. Shame.
Got my hair colored at the Salon (first time at the Salon btw) and I had a phenomenal experience. Mary was very professional, kind and friendly. She was careful with my hair and made good recommendations on how to maintain a great hair quality and appearance. Be sure to book an appointment with her if you need one. The receptionists on the other hand, gave off a somewhat nonchalant and weird vibe but Mary's hospitality made up for all of that so a 5 star it is.
Went for a couples massage and it was horrible. Complete unprofessionalism — Julia and Sally were nice but they were chit chatting and laughing throughout the massage which was distracting from what was supposed to be a relaxing environment. When they spoke, the massage lacked, it was like a child playing with a toy not a professional RMT. No checking for pressure either, at times it was like a superficial rub and other times it was like she was trying to dislocate my shoulder. What a mess, the experience was trash there are better spas in Toronto ????
Since China Liangtse Wellness took over the spa it has been getting worse and worse. I come in regularly and am always hearing their staff speaking in Mandarin loudly over their phones, watching videos loudly over their phones (including when they are in the washroom). They are rude, AND WALK IN ON CLIENTS (and Sally their manager thinks this behaviour is acceptable) when they are getting treatments by other people if they don’t like the client talking to their service provider. One of the therapists was seen by two of my friends to have used the bathroom and not washed her hands after. The China Liangtse Wellness masseuses are not registered or trained properly. They do not follow public health policies.
I have had two sessions of electrolysis at Uptown Spa. I'm not sure if it was a sales tactic or if the technician was just rude but she kept making backhanded comments about my appearance that buying more of their services could "fix". Even after I specifically said "You made a lot of comments about X last time and I would like you to stop, please" that was apparently not clear enough for her and she continued to comment on how much my appearance bothered her. When I pay someone to perform a service I expect professionalism and my expectations weren't met here.
