"Have been coming to this salon for years, but now going to another salon. I phoned to make an appt... Bonnie, owner, says she had an opening at 1:00, said they had a 2 hour slot so no problem. I arrive and was taken down the hall for a brow tin. As i was going down the hall the owner calls the technician back and i hear a bunch of whispering. After the service, tech walks me to the front and Bonnie says they won't be able to do the next service and to come back tomorrow. I was shocked, I just booked the appt an hour before arriving, rescheduled my afternoon for this, and now owner says reschedule. There was one older woman sitting behind me and I presume this woman had a more expensive service than mine. Bonnie told me on the phone there was a woman in that was having lots of services done. I presume the customer wanted more services and I was cancelled due to that. I will never go back after that experience, especially when I had an appointment for 2 services. Also buyer beware prices in the window are not current! Salon only has one technician so if you book and she is ill you get a call your appt is cancelled."

"Hot stone massage by René was the BEST ever. She really knows her stuff, very skilled, focused, just the amount of pressure. Her work is truly therapeutic and very relaxing. The pedicure was done by Svetlana who is actually a degreed Podiatrist from Ukraine. She is AMAZING. My feet have never felt or looked better. These two employees are truly highly educated in their fields. Bonnie, the lovely owner of Shades is very fortunate to have both these therapists. You would normally find this degree of skill in a more medical environment, they are that knowledgeable. René and Lana are exemplary! ✨✨✨✨✨"

"Beware of prices! I looked at prices posted on glass window by door lower leg wax was posted $30 and eyebrow wax $16 When it came time to paying I questioned the price she was charging. Told me prices went up hadn’t had chance to post them had to pay $40 for lower leg wax and $20 for brow wax wouldn’t have came in if I knew prices had changed Also when I returned home I still had sticky wax on different parts of my legs that I had to scrub off"

"Clean accommodating place of business where I received pampering and experienced some new services ie ear candling and foot detox which I found so helpful to me. Services were well explained and I came away with good knowledge of the procedures"

"Google really needs to implement a zero star feature. Please find a more detailed explanation of our issue on the review I left for the hotel. I booked the spa/hotel package through a phone call. The hotel front desk helped since no one at the spa could speak English. We drove East from Ottawa because we wanted to see whales in Tadoussac. We built our hotel portion of the vacation around this spa day, which is the only reason we were in Saguenay. If we had known that we wouldn't have a spa day, we would have booked our 3 day stay in Tadoussac. The hotel had the right date but the spa didn't. It was such a waste of time. The spa just said sorry and offered us a voucher to book another time, EVEN THOUGH they knew we were visiting from Ottawa. Zero compensation, zero follow-up, zero effort to find a solution. Horrible customer service. When we went to the hotel to explain the situation, a lady from the front desk took us back to the spa to see if anything could be done. She was shocked at the situation too and sent us a $13 bottle of wine to take the edge off. Her words, "This is clearly their fault, I'm so sorry." Travellers, avoid this spa. They clearly don't care about clients or taking responsibility for their mistakes."

"I recently visited the Blue Lagoon Spa, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing due to the unprofessional behavior of one of the staff members, Mia. From the start, Mia was rude and unhelpful—she was short with her responses and did not seem interested in addressing my concerns. At one point, she even told me to "never pick me again," which felt incredibly disrespectful. It's a shame because the spa itself has a great reputation and a relaxing ambiance, but this encounter really soured my visit. Customer service is a crucial part of any spa experience, and unfortunately, Mia's behavior left much to be desired. I hope the management addresses this issue to ensure future guests have a more pleasant experience."
