I went for my first massage there today. The student was very professional and did a great job, I would definitely come back. Only negative for me was that the room was quite cold and there was no option to make the room warmer at all. I will just bring a sweater next time????????♀️. For 90 minutes at $42 you can’t really complain!
I have been twice. The massage is very different from RMT as it is the whole body. I found it profoundly relaxing and felt taller and much looser afterwards. I've also taken my Dad who is 75 and has scaitica, they were very careful with him and it helped a lot with the stiffness and pain. The staff are all lovely and it easy to get an appointment for the next day. Thank you!
Just finished my first appointment. Building is older and treatment takes place in an open room with a padded mat on the floor. Student was very professional and did a great job! Worth noting shiatsu is more of a pressure massage than the ‘massaging’ type movements with other varieties, still enjoyable and would recommend. Great value at 90 min full body massage for $42 including tax. Will be back :)
This is an amazing find in Vancouver! I have visited the clinic at least a dozen times in a year and have always worked with a student. This is by far the best $40+ for 75-90 minutes you will ever spend! I have never been disappointed with a student. Some feel more "intuitive" than others but I remember that each student has his or her own touch and while they are following a course of study, they are all individuals on a learning curve. Again, I have never been disappointed and always leave feeling looser and refreshed. Shiatsu is a different kind of massage ... rhythmic pressure more than massage. GO! I can't recommend Canadian College of Shiatsu enough. I have moved from Vancouver back to Seattle but each time I come back up, I make an appointment!
I did my training there and then opened my own practice in Paris, France :-) Great school with great teachers! I spent two of the most amazing years of my life in Vancouver and I met great people studying at the College. I can tell you that it is one of the most serious and rigorous school to learn Shiatsu. I also had the great opportunity to travel to Hawaii for an anatomy workshop. Such a privilege I would never have had if I had studied Shiatsu in France! Thanks to the school. Arigato Gozaimasu!
I’ve been to this place a few times now, and I have to say that the students are always super attentive & take great care of you! Today was no different, and I wanted to commend Arisa for taking more time with me as my neck, shoulders & back were super stiff from having climbed hard the day before.
I phoned in asking for information today. It was like pulling teach. The receptionist really isn't very knowledgeable about your course offerings. Pretty much everything that came out of her mouth seemed like she was uncertain, hesitant, or guessing. She certainly didn't give us much comfort nor give us ability to trust your institution. We asked to speak with an in-take advisor and that was pretty much denied. She said a teacher "may" call us back today, but of-course we didn't receive any follow-up phone call. To the owner of this business, your receptionist may be harming your business more than doing good. Thought you should know.
I have never had a bad student massage here. I have been going on and off there for five years. I always leave feeling so much better.
