"Consistently Great Massages, but Uncomfortable Tip Pressure I’ve had many great experiences at Iris Day Spa, and the massages are always top-notch! The staff is incredibly skilled and clearly take great pride in their work, even though there’s a bit of a language barrier. It’s clear that they’re experts in their craft, which is why I keep coming back. However, I’ve noticed that there’s a bit of uncomfortable pressure when it comes to tipping. While I understand tipping is part of the experience, I’ve been hassled for a tip, and I've seen others be put in the same situation. It makes the end of the visit a little awkward. I believe the staff should be paid more fairly for their exceptional service, rather than relying on customer tips in such a pushy way. That said, the quality of the massage and the therapy provided is what keeps me coming back. I really hope they reconsider the tipping situation because the overall experience is fantastic."
"I recently had a very disappointing massage experience. The therapist's communication was limited, and despite my requests for a gentler touch, the massage was quite forceful. During payment, I was made to feel uncomfortable when the therapist, after receiving a tip, implied that it was insufficient. I believe tipping should be voluntary and based on the quality of service, which in this case, I did not feel was satisfactory. I will not be returning to this establishment and would not recommend it to others."
"Horrible experience. First I'm told if I don't like my masseuse I can change in the first 10 minutes. Then my masseuse comes in still chewing her food. 2 minutes in it is clear she does not know what she is doing so I ask to change. She says it's her turn and she needs this so I figure whatever, it's a cheap massage, ill do s good deed. It does not get better but it is what it is. The massage I'd give a 2.5. However, I turn the lights to full power when it's over to get dressed and the room is disgusting. And it's old dirty if you catch my drift. I then go to the washroom after and it's better but not as clean as it should be in this setting. All in all, as I said, bad experience. If you decide to go anyways just be sure to turn the lights on before lying down for your massage and see what they are hiding."
"My time at Iris Day Spa was a huge letdown. The constant noise from nearby construction made it impossible to enjoy what should have been a relaxing massage. To make matters worse, the staff were extremely pushy about tips and even followed us outside after we left, which was both aggressive and uncomfortable. This level of unprofessionalism, combined with the noisy environment, really spoiled the experience. I won’t be coming back, and I’d recommend avoiding this place if you’re looking for a peaceful escape."
"Very bad as they keep on asking for tip . Never go here. They gather up on you for TIP. Stupid people they are. $65 For one hour is already paid and TIP extra? why for god sake. Also the lady did not know english she kept on using the translator recorder device that used half of the time. Its very wrong to ask for tip. And I explained them that it is not mandatory to give TIP . So I am not tipping at all."
"Yo Yo was amazing! I was going to give a full five stars if I was not asked to tip. I was going to tip regardless because I noticed that I was able to breathe better and my joints were feeling awesome. It is when you pay for your bill and they ask for a tip. I think it's a bit jarring especially looking at some of the other reviews where others have been asked for tips. I tipped 16% ($10 for $65) At the same time it makes me wonder how many people have come in to get massages without tipping. I wish I brought cash to tip. I normally wake up 2-3 times at night, but after seeing Yo Yo I was surprised that I slept through the night and woke up on time. There's some really amazing professionals in there -- do NOT be mean to them! Or harass them. I can't believe people have requested 'special services' from them - people who do that are trash and I hope they kick you and report you to the police! :)"
"It was my second time here and I am very disappointed with the tip system. Massage is overall good. But asking for tip is not a good thing. Infacts students do it because they donot have any options that can provide relief and it really very difficult in that situation to pay for tips. Not going back there ."
"Extremely upset by one of the ladies at this place. Last week I took my senior friend there and she gave a $10 tip ($60 massage) and verbally appreciated the work done. Today, my friend was only able to give a $8 tip. So the lady (Eva) followed us to the car and requested that we give her more $. She asked if the massage was good, and my friend said yes. So Eva proceeded to say “Good massage, good tip.” Then she stood outside my car as if waiting for my friend to give her more $. I had been here several times before COVID-19 and it was always a hit or miss, but never had something like this happen before. I usually give an 18-20% tip as I understand that is what is expected, however, no one should be harassed like this."
"My back eas very sore from ripping up old flooring at my house. I called and was able to get an appointment right away. MeiLiu was amazing ! I have had back issues before and paid over 100$ to help my lower back. MeiLiu was fantastic. Would easily go here again"
"Dropped by for the first time. Back was feeling stiff. When I first got in was asked by the front lady whether I wanted a painful harder type or softer relaxing one. I asked for relaxing and overall it was great. The person doing the massage, Cherry, did a mixture of pressure (using hands, elbows, and feet by stepping on me) and oil massage. Asked a few times in between whether pressure was good enough, which I appreciated. Never know when you are supposed to say to ease off or push harder. A first for me was Cherry wore gloves when applying oil onto my legs/back. Was $60 for the hour and gave her a small tip. Overall was a good experience."
"Amy her self is very intuitive and make you feel amazing with her hands. She is not shy to use good pressure and really get into the spots that need work. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a massage. Her pieces are very good for what you are getting."
"Excellent foot reflexology, skilled practitioners, very good people who care. Been to other places for foot reflexology, they actually are quite knowledgeable vs...a nice routine. Real healing and relaxation offered:)"
