GoFloat

Commonly known as Floatation Therapy, Sensory Deprivation, or R.E.S.T (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique), is the practice of floating on your back about half in and half out of the saltwater solution within a float tank (also commonly referred to as a sensory deprivation tank or isolation tank). The tank is completely dark, silent, and you won't be fighting gravity; floating is about everything you won't be doing. You can always turn the lights on, open the tank door or exit the tank at any time. You are in total control of your environment

Simply amazing experience! Did my first float ever. The 2 owners - Jan and Geoff are great guys. I didn't know what to expect, but the experience exceeded my expectations. Mind and body both positively impacted. Try it!

Such a wonderfully tranquil and serene experience. I took my girlfriend and we both loved floating! It can take a few minutes to get comfortable & settled on your first visit. But once you find your zen, the hour flies by & feel like minutes.

I wanted to share how much I loved my recent experience at GoFloat. The hour and a half session was incredibly relaxing, leaving me feeling rejuvenated and refreshed by the end. It provided the perfect opportunity to focus solely on myself, disconnect from the fast-paced world around us, and truly let my mind wander and relax. The overall benefits are truly remarkable, and I'm seriously considering a monthly subscription as I loved how I felt after the session. Thank you for offering such a wonderful experience—it's definitely something I'll be coming back to!

This was my first time ever doing this and I was throughly surprised. I went into this experience not knowing a thing besides that it could help with muscle aches. I was experiencing some arthritis flare ups and other joint pain from running. It’s $89 for one float session but if you go to the first or last appointment of the day you get 2hours for the same price ! It’s so awesome. Also, it’s pretty beneficial to talk to them about their monthly membership or call before you book your first float because it honestly is cheaper signing up for their membership than paying for just one time. GoFloat is located in a beautiful part of Burlington with free street parking on the weekends , so it was very stress free arriving. We arrived 20 minutes early to fill out client info and they had a cool idea of using white boards instead of being paper based ; my left handed partner did not think they were as cool as me lol- He says whiteboards usually smudge when he writes (not sure if it’s a left handed thing but thought it would be helpful to say he goes from the bottom up to help the smudging) ????. After we filled those out we were then shown around the facility, and given a detailed explanation of what our session would entail. You have a pre-shower put your ear plugs in and then you get ready for your soak. I ended up using this head/neck support noodle they offer and it was amazing, your head sinks just a tad when you’re in the tank and it’s feels nice to have a little support. Once you are in there you have the option to turn the light off or not but, I clicked that baby off and laid back. I was a bit chilly in the beginning but I run cold , especially in the colder months so after I adjusted to the temperature I was okay. The water feels almost jelly-like and you really do float, there’s almost a pressure if you try to go down. After your session is done you take a post shower (they provide pre/post shower items) , dry off and get dressed. They have a little area where you can get additional time if you need to blow dry your hair, lotion your body etc.. I think I went into this just expecting relief from pain but gained mental relief as well. It helped a lot to just unplug, completely, for 2 hours. It’s not something we really get in our everyday lives but is so needed to not suffer burnout. My hair was also SO SOFT which was also a nice touch. My partner and I loved our time here and are excited to go back. This facility is a fragrance free zone and everything is wheel-chair accessible!

I had been meaning to schedule a float at GoFloat for awhile now and it so happened that some of my other friends wanted to try it out as well so we all booked a float. It has been a while since I’ve experienced floating and was very pleased with not only the atmosphere and the warm welcome but also the cleanliness of the studio and the tanks. We all went for 90 minutes and came out talking about our experience over dinner afterwards. We were all pleased and very very relaxed. I can certainly see myself continuing on with this as a habit and going deeper and deeper into that meditative state that I experienced. Definitely recommend!

It was my first visit to GoFloat Studios and my first floating experience, both of which were very positive. What I appreciated most was the warm welcome, the much-needed orientation to floating, and the friendly chat with one of the co-owners after the session. The studio has a warm, cozy atmosphere, and it was nice to relax on the sofa before and after floating. The studio is clean and well-equipped with everything a guest needs to feel safe and comfortable. Highly recommended!

First time floater. Mt husband and I recently went for our first float last weekend. The staff were all very friendly, and the shop is very welcoming. The floating took a little to get used too mainly I was in my head alot thoughts of " 90 mins is a long time, am I going to hear the music at the end" but after about 30 minutes I let the water do it's thing. It was very relaxing, by the end I was shocked it was over. You can use a head floaty if you want they also provide a pool noodle. You have a personal shower in the room with body wash, shampoo and conditioner. The also provide a blow dryer, hair straightener, and qtips etc. Make sure you are plenty hydrated leading up to it and bring water in the room with you for after. Going back for round 2 tomorrow!

Geoff the co owner of go float is a stand up guy and phenomenal entrepreneur. He has thought deeply about this business and laboured with his partner jan for over 2 years, meticulously planning every detail of this float studio. Geoff has a passion for spreading floating and it’s numerous benefits to people. A visit with my my friend and brother exceeded all of our expectations for a first float. The facility reflects Geoff’s passion for helping others, and the three of us left lighter than when we arrived. Don’t be intimidated - try something new - you’re in good hands with Geoff. Wishing this phenomenal duo all the success in the world.
