I booked a pedicure at The Spa Magnolia for my partner’s birthday, making the reservation three days in advance. On the morning of her birthday, my partner received a call from a staff member requesting to reschedule the appointment, as the employee originally scheduled to provide the service was reportedly too unwell to remain at work. The staff member stated that it was our decision whether she should stay to complete the appointment or go home. We expressed that we were uncomfortable being asked to make such a decision, and felt it was inappropriate and unprofessional to place that responsibility on the client. The conversation then took an unfortunate turn when the staff member questioned why my partner had not responded to an after-hours email sent the previous day requesting to reschedule. When my partner explained that she had been working - specifically, a night shift as a paramedic - the staff member dismissively replied, “Yes, most of our clients work.” Ultimately, we informed the staff member that we no longer felt welcome attending the appointment, and reiterated that it should never be the client’s role to determine whether a staff member works while unwell. This interaction was deeply disappointing and an extremely poor way to begin what should have been a special birthday celebration. Very, very disappointing. In response to the reply on this feedback: the business would improve greatly if / when the Owner is able to take responsibility for their failings as a brand and implement a refresher course for their staff - and themselves - on phone etiquette as well as how to appropriately respond to honest feedback from clients.
I selected the Rest, Restore, Relax package and was very impressed by the experience and the skills of my therapist, Grace. I called ahead to ensure that men were welcome and that my chosen package was suitable. This is a high end spa with decor in muted neutral tones, not at all "girly". The only common area is the small relaxation lounge/waiting area where you complete the usual health questionnaire. Grace has expert skills and considered my health form carefully, asked questions and made recommendations. She described each stage of the treatments and I was grateful for that. The 90+ minutes simply flew by and I left glowing and feeling like I was walking on a cloud. I was staying at the hotel the night before. The spa team helped ensure a late checkout so that I could return to my room after my treatments. I was very grateful for that and I look forward to returning to Spa Magnolia on my next trip to Victoria.
Couples massage, Rest & Restore. Melissa and Angela were professional, communicative, welcoming, effective. Felt wonderful. And all staff including bookings were very helpful and kind. Loved it.
Mom and I had an amazing time at the spa. We bod had facials and were recommended after care. We fel very relaxed and we're absolutely happy with their service ????
One if the top 5 facials I’ve ever had! My clinician had such a wonderful intuitive touch, I was transported! My daughter-in-love had an amazing experience too! We loved the tranquility of the waiting room wth the water feature and those plushy robes were the ultimate in luxury!! We both had that relaxed rosy glow. Highly recommended-will definitely be back!
Wow! First time at Spa Magnolia yesterday with my daughter for the Self-Renewal package and it was amazing. We had Chantal and Nicole and they were the best! So kind and professional and top-notch estheticians. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. I highly recommend this spa!
My only experience here is retail - I have not had the pleasure of getting a treatment yet - but the staff were incredibly helpful on my multiple visits and I am pleased with my purchases.
I had a 60 minute massage with Grace… it was perfect. Probably the best one I’ve had. The pressure was perfect, atmosphere was calming… thank you! I will be back????
