"I feel so blessed to have found this hidden gem of a clinic. I have been going to massage therapists for 30+ years and I know how hard it is to find a good fit. I randomly chose The Healing Tree Clinic based on Google reviews as I am new to the city. I can't tell you how pleased I was to have Sarah as my therapist. She is caring and understanding and gives an incredible massage, truly a gift. I always feel like a new woman when I am done with my treatment. All the therapists I have had contact with here are polite, pleasant, and helpful. The clinic itself is clean and quiet and definitely gives the mellow vibes. I cannot recommend this clinic enough, it is one of the best!"

"We are so lucky to have this massage clinic in our neighborhood! I had an incredible experience here! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a serene, calming atmosphere. The space is beautifully designed, quiet, and perfectly relaxing—immediately setting the tone for a peaceful experience that gives you a break from your daily tasks and responsibilities. My massage therapist was not only professional but also incredibly attentive to my needs. She took the time to understand what areas of my body needed focus which truly made for a personalized experience. I left feeling completely rejuvenated and relaxed. I highly recommend for anyone seeking a top-notch, tranquil massage experience!"

"Came in for a massage with Lisa Phung. She was so knowledgeable and made my experience very comfortable. She targeted my problem area with care. Felt amazing after the massage. Highlights of the facility: The spa has parking spot right in front of the store. And the spa environment was cozy and relaxing. Highly recommended! Would for sure visit again!"

"I recently had my first experience at Healing Tree and it was lovely. Fallaine is wonderful, she asked me about my treatment preferences and was very effective and intentional with her healing modalities. I felt comfortable and relaxed the entire time - an hour barely feels like enough when you’re being taken care of this well. Thank you and looking forward to my next appointment."

"I’ve been seeing Fallaine at The Healing Tree for about a year now, and I can’t recommend her enough! She is incredibly well-versed in her practice and clearly passionate about what she does. It’s obvious that she is always expanding her knowledge and continuing her education, which really shows in the quality of care she provides. As someone who is quite active, I find tremendous relief working with her. Fallaine is excellent at deep tissue massage and cupping, which provide a lot of release for me. She’s also very knowledgeable about exercises/stretched to help with long-term management of muscle discomfort related to both physical activity and the day-to-day stresses/demands of work. I always feel like I’m in good hands with her expertise, and her dedication to her clients’ well-being is truly exceptional!"

"Business does not respond to emails. The massages here are also not great as some therapists lack attention and good pressure. Edit: I understand you are a local business and the review is based on experience. I booked under a separate email address and unfortunately will not be using you again."

"Fallaine was an exceptionally knowledgeable Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), demonstrating a deep understanding of the body and various techniques. Her ability to pinpoint problem areas and apply the right pressure with skill made the massage incredibly effective. She listened carefully to any concerns and adapted the session to target specific needs, leaving a lasting positive impact."

"I had a 60 minute massage today. Kyle is always friendly, professional and knows the right amount of pressure to apply to my problem areas. I always feel great after my massage and will continue to return. Highly recommended!"

"Don't know what changed here. Used to be nice at reception. I called this morning sick, asking to be rescheduled to a later date. The owner seemed to think I wanted to cancel with no notice, and asked me to call at a later date to reschedule. But I don't want to pay cancelation fees, so why would I do that? I clarify myself, and he offers me times for next week. I take a time, comment that next time I'll make sure to not to double book with my sick schedule, and am refused service. Just as well if the owner of massage athletica is looking for reasons to refuse business, I suppose a comment from a fellow with a cold will do. UPDATE: I was contacted by the owner of the Portage location, Kyle (not the one I spoke to before). He was very apologetic, and wanted to make things right. My other experiences with this business has been positive, so I will still call them next time I need their services. Folks will come to their own conclusions, but I've felt that their good ratings were well earned. Looking forward to the next visit, Kyle!"

"Clean, friendly environment. My wife and I both go here. They have many massage therapists. I normally get massaged by Cassandra. She is very knowledgeable about injuries, stretching, and entire body wellness. I prefer a more deep tissue massage. I highly recommend Massage Athletica!"

"Hi, I dont like giving bad reviews but OMG. I normally go to the one on Waverley and see Jared. I really hurt my neck. Either he wasnt in or was booked. I called and they said John was avaiable on portage so I said ok. I went there on sept 9 2023 at 1pm and I think it was the most awkward, horrible massage I ever got. I did tell him I was sore on the right side of my neck. So he was working on that side for maybe 20 mins not alot of pressure. The he said he was going to give that side a break so he started massaging my calf which I had Capri's on and started massaging my feet. He was talking which I don't mind but whenever he talked he stopped massaging me. The only time he stood up was to massage my feet and calf. After the hour i got dressed and he came back in to see how i was and i said it was still sore so he had me sit and the chair and tried to loosen it up. Then he said if it still hurts tomorrow for me to come back. I live on corydon and i got to Waverley also because it's on my way home from work and its also closer to my house. It was my last massage on my benefits so I was hoping for a good one. A few days later I booked a appt with Jared on Waverley and he was amazing as usual. He even told me some excerises to do to help my neck. Sorry for the long rant."

"The massue that attended to me was really good. Went for a deep tissue massage and it was great. However, they need to really up their hygiene game. Their towels are those dark dirty colours that ypu cannot tell if they are clean or not, they are also too old and requires change. Also, they do not put paper towel or protective cover on their massage bench to at least cover the bench cloth. So, different people are possibly gonna walk in using same cloth on the bench which is too old and tough on the skin when your face touches. If you have a sensitive skin, you may have to request for a paper towel to cover the bench cloth where you will place your face on. Other than the above concerns, they have good therapists with great hands. Nelly"

"I'm extremely happy with the massages that I've gotten from both Kyle & Catherine. Nice people, very professional, and I trust what they're doing. The building is very clean and it's a relaxing environment... great music playing too! Highly recommended."

"I see Kaylee at the Portage location quite frequently and I am always impressed with her professionalism and knowledge. I have suffered from migraines and tension headaches over the past year and she "beats" them out of me. She has not only helped me during my appointments, the tips and exercises she informed me to do at home has made a huge improvement! Even though I am sore, and may curse her name throughout the appointment, it is worth is!"

"I've been coming to Galt Massage Therapy for over 5 years and the treatments have exceeded my expectations every time. I also really appreciate how they take the time to explain the causes of muscle strains and explain how to prevent them. Over the years, this knowledge has made a huge difference to my overall well-being."

"Denis and Linda are by far the best massage therapists in the region. Point at the region that hurts. They find the knots and tight bands and knees them out. They are very attentive to the pressure and do an excellent job sorting out painful muscles. There is a reason you have to book so far in advance. But they do have a stand by list if you are in need. I can't go anywhere else now. This is the best."

"I've been going to Galt Massage Therapy for 5 or more years. Best Registered Massage Therapists around! I typically see Linda, but have seen Denis as well, both are wonderful and friendly and help you to feel comfortable. Office is bright, clean and beautiful. I highly recommend!! Also love that they use unscented lotion instead of oil!"

"I was hesitant to see a male RMT, but Denis is incredibly knowledgeable and professional. I’ve seen many RMTs and he has been the most helpful. He does a great job of communicating and checking in with you at the beginning of the appt, during treatment as well as afterwards. If you have anxiety about going to see an RMT or are looking for someone who’s knowledgeable I highly recommend Denis!"

"I’ve been through many many massage therapists all over the GTA and around but I’ve never met anyone like Denis. He is exceptionally knowledgeable and genuinely caring and you can tell right away he is passionate about what he does. He spends time to truly understand your problems and to educate you and caters exactly to your specific needs instead of providing one cookie cutter routine for all. He even finds out areas that I had never known or imagined that was tense and related to my issues. Because of what I do for a living, my body is in constant pain and ache but Denis has already helped me tremendously for just over a month to make me feel so much better both at work and when I rest at home, without having to see the physiotherapist and chiropractor I used to see before I moved to Cambridge. I had recommended Denis to my husband and he 100% agrees with my opinion about him. I cannot help but express my excitement and deep relief that I’ve finally found such an amazing and one of a kind massage therapist who is a true lifesaver for me!"

"Galt Massage Therapy is absolutely EXCELLENT. I've been seeing Denis for months and my experience in being treated by him has made me an absolute convert to the benefits of GOOD massage therapy. Honestly, I used to believe that massage therapy was just a very expensive way to relax, and not something that offered real medical benefits. Unfortunately the manner in which registered massage therapists (RMTs) are certified means that some massage therapy offered by some RMTs genuinely IS just an expensive way to relax. Some massage therapists, such as Denis @ Galt Massage Therapy, seek and obtain an incredible amount of additional expertise, but there is really no good way for them to advertise themselves or distinguish themselves as "more than" just an RMT. This also means that the general public unfortunately has very little ability to assess what type of RMT they are actually working with, and whether they are receiving the treatment they need (and real value for money - massage therapy is not cheap by the standards of the average uninsured person). Denis is what I personally think of as a "medical" massage therapist. He is not a windchimes and incense and flute music type - rather, you can tell he is an expert in treating the physical body. He clearly has an excellent understanding of anatomy and how everything in the body connects to everything else. Working with Denis I've learned that when something hurts - for example my hip - it's frequently connected to tightness or injury in some other area of the body that I never would have known to target. I honestly cannot recommend him enough (and while I haven't been treated by Linda, I believe she has a similar attitude and breadth of valuable knowledge). At the beginning of every appointment he will inquire about my health/any new issues, but most of the time I just tell him to work on what he thinks needs to be worked on, as frankly he is SO MUCH BETTER than I am at detecting where my problem areas are. It is very clear that he is able to get information from your body that you maybe could not have articulated yourself, which to me is a real mark of expertise. The thing you have to understand about massage therapy (which I personally did not understand until being treated by Denis) is that it is a gradual process of both healing AND maintenance of physical health. Attending a massage therapist for the first time as an adult usually means that you will have accumulated all sorts of issues over the years. NO massage therapist is going to be able to "fix" that in one session. Rather, you attend regularly to allow the therapist to work on treating those areas and ALSO work to prevent you from getting new problems. Oh, one more thing. I know that some women are uncomfortable with the idea of being treated by a male massage therapist. I'm female and in my thirties. When I booked my first appointment with Denis my back was bugging me so much that it didn't even occur to me to care about the gender of the RMT - I just wanted help. That said, I have ALWAYS felt 100% comfortable with him. You are always covered with a sheet, but for the area being worked on, and Denis is always careful to secure/manage the sheet when you're turning over or shifting position. So if you have any discomfort about that, don't let it hold you back from getting help from an expert like Denis!"
