POV: I went in expecting to have to chop my mermaid-length hair off because 3 salons had deemed it unsalvageable. STORYTIME I had exited an abusive marriage some time ago and had neglected my hair while preparing for court trials. My hair has ALWAYS been a source of identity for me, and it is the thing I like most about myself. When my soon-to-be-fiance accidentally let his upcoming proposal slip, I had a week to fix my matted and out-of-control hair. The salon's lovely females, Piper and Sinead, fit me in promptly and helped me figure out what treatments I would need that fit my budget (broke and bougie is doable!). I was matched with the MOST loving and accepting human, Mark Peterson (who is on Instagram, and you should go follow ????????). Not only was this man able to save my hair (and I mean it was BAD), but he listened to my experience, made me feel seen, normalized my mental health struggles and got me excited about my upcoming proposal instead of ruminating in past mistakes. This is one of those stores, and if you worked in retail, YOU KNOW how rare this is: jokes, laughter, they love their boss and their coworkers, they work together and help each other out without any prompt. Best off, they did not upsell me and even had a raffle draw for the holidays (adorable little gingerbread house box ????) that gave me buy one get one for their AMAZING products. Mark was incredibly knowledgeable about products that would work for my unique hair type and worked with me to find products I NEEDED within my budget instead of products that filled their commission. I have never had such a wonderful experience in a fancy salon, and have found most (including the 3 who turned me away) to be slightly toxic. Very warm and welcoming, 15/10 would recommend (there is even free parking in the back ????). I loved Mark, and think you should ask for him. But honestly, all the artists seemed talented and it was a pleasure to watch them interact with clients.

I had the pleasure of seeing Amanda, the blond specialist, and she is truly incredible at what she does. Her expertise, attention to detail, and passion for her craft made my appointment an amazing experience. She took the time to understand exactly what I wanted, and the results were perfect—I absolutely love my hair! The entire staff at Carrie’l is friendly and inviting, with lighthearted conversations and laughter filling the space. It’s clear they love what they do, and their energy makes you feel appreciated. The products they use are top-quality, and my hair has never felt better! If you’re looking for a salon that combines skill, a welcoming environment, and top-notch service, Carrie’l is the place to go. I can’t wait for my next visit!

I had a signature Pedicure with Alexis. She did an excellent job! I recently had hip replacement surgery and could only sit comfortably for an hour. She was able to complete all the components of the treatment including scrub, paraffin wax, hot stone massage and shellack polish in that time. It was so quiet and relaxing that I nearly fell asleep!

Amanda is very knowledgeable about colour and provides beautiful highlights. I also love her haircuts. It's always a pleasure to visit Carrie'l -- professional but relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

After having cataract surgery on both eyes this week (and not being allowed to wash my hair in the shower), I made an appointment for a Happy Hour Blow Out with Mark. He took care to cover my face while washing my hair (I can’t get water in my eyes)., and gave me a great hair wash and style, as well as recommended a few products that he used on my hair. It was a relaxing appointment, and I loved how he styled my hair. Thank you!

The girls at the front had to rebook me a number of times and made it seamless. They are not only professional and mindful of a persons life and that shit happens! They are considerate and incredibly respectful in all aspects and incredibly easy imon the eyes as well The professionalism I received for my service was fantastic she took extra time to pull and ingrown which is never fun to do but none the less got it done ! I strongly recommend the salon in any capacity for all its amenities and the class of people that work there as well! I’ve been numerous salons Evelyn Charles Marvel college the worst is the Rock in St.Albert (dont waste your time it money) but this one has been by a long shot my favourite and most pleasant in 25 plus years of needing these types of services from massage to underarm wax to hair cuts Thank you all for being the best at your craft in your team is impeccable!

I have been coming to Carrie’l for years. Sinead is amazing! She does incredible work and I feel like a million bucks after she's done my hair! The customer service is also wonderful at Carrie'l!
