"Edited: While the staff are 5/5 for service & expertise the physical condition of this location is a 1/5. They need to update the 1990's look and feel. There are no mirrors (or one tiny 5x5 inch one) so after a facial or massage before you go back into the world you cannot look at yourself. The decor is ikea circa 2000 and so bad. The ceilings have tin foil on them for reasons unknown. And the carpets look like they need a deep clean. It's not an environment you want to spend time in 'pampering' yourself. The owners need to invest in this space because it's quite bad. Old: I had an amazing facial with Abby. She was very knowledgable and kind, and I knew I was in the hands of an expert. Left with glowing skin!"
"I recently had a massage at Hand and Stone on Jarvis Street. I went in with a multitude of issues. The therapist accessed me and went to work. This resulted in him working on all problem areas but in particular my more needed ones. The end result was pretty wonderful . He gave me advice along the way and I left feeling healthier and more mobile. I’m going back very soon.10/10."
"As a healthcare worker who is tense all day from practice, my deep tissue massage with Adam was exactly what I needed, he left no area unturned, ensuring my comfort throughout! I walked out feeling amazing! The administrative team was super knowledgeable and answered all my questions and made booking my next appointments a breeze! 10/10 recommend Hand and Stone to family and friends!"
"I went to H&S for a facial. It was the first one I've had. But Abby made my experience relaxing and comfortable. Her knowledge and experience was evident. She was very friendly and put me at ease. I was afraid that I would leave with a red face or a possible reaction to the products. But there was none. I was really happy with the results, and her experience really shows. I've now become a member and will frequent H&S more often. Thank you, Abby. Arnold"
"The service itself was great and I thank that to hard working massage therapist. However, this place has some of the shadiest practices when it comes to membership. They never miss a credit card charge, but as soon as you do anything with your credits, the border line criminal behaviour begins. 1. If you allow your spouse to use your credit, which is money they have already taken from you, they charge you $10 for absolutely no reason. 2. Even after you have been charged over $1000, if you try to freeze your membership so you can get around using your credits, well good luck because they only allow 3 months, then automatically keep billing you. And don't even suggest to cancel your membership because then you only have 90 days to use ALL of your accrued credits post cancellation or else be ready to lose all the money they already took from you. I don't even know how this is legal. 3. Somehow if you split your credits. Let's say you use 1.5 credits for a longer massage session. The extra .5 is now in your account in cash form but locked to the Hand and Stone location you did this service at...You're supposed to be able to use your credit at any hand and stone but the moment any credit is split, good luck with that. If you can find a place that does good services just go there instead. Hand and Stone's management is greedy and does not care for its customers. The staff at the front desk quickly begins being rude to you the moment they sense a membership cancellation. They treat memberships like it's a GoodLife from 2015. Just go anywhere else."
"Abby not only has a great personality, but provides one of the best facials in Toronto. Careful concentrated care leaving you glowing and confident!"
"The facial by Abby was fantastic! She was very thorough and my skin and pores look incredible!"
"I booked an appointment over email; they provided the times they were available, I confirmed, and then when I showed up, they said I did not have an appointment. Upon asking how this happened, they said the email thread that they had already responded to had been sent to their spam filter. No real apologies or solution to rectify the situation were offered. Needless to say, I’m unimpressed with this location/whomever on the staff handled this interaction."
